Wily Caballero having the game of his life
Also, just saw Mascherano is out for the year. Barcelona are gonna pay again for not buying a defender last summer. Constant problem.

one thing i haven't seen mentioned is what will happen with Upton Park. I'm assuming it'll be sold into residential real estate? Must be worth a few quid which could offside some of the Olympic costs?Y@k Bollocks wrote:As Req points out, they're building seats that will cover the track, so that won't be too much of a problem. Wembley and Emirates seats are quite far from the pitch and I think the atmosphere at both of those grounds is decent enough.
As for filling it up, yeah. Weird one. My wife has never been to a football match before but is now asking if she could come to a game. Her brother is asking if I would take his kids. That wouldn't have happened at the old ground. Brady will fill that ground, albeit with kids and tourists.

Rumor has it that Arsenal agree for Jovetic, contingent on them qualifying for the CL. Yeah...we'll see.
Madrid/Barca? Please God not again.
Bayern look the clear favorites to win it all.

In other Fiorentina news, Spurs sent scouts to watch Borja Valero.

Nobody knows. The owners are being pretty cagey about it. Yeah, I reckon residential. Or sell it to someone like Tesco.Req wrote:one thing i haven't seen mentioned is what will happen with Upton Park. I'm assuming it'll be sold into residential real estate? Is he not a central midfielder who likes to attack? My general feeling is that Spurs tend to buy players for positions where they are already strong, while neglecting areas that are more due for an enforcement. GK would be another position where that applies, though I think Lloris is awesome.Positive A wrote:In other Fiorentina news, Spurs sent scouts to watch Borja Valero.
I remember in 06-08 where Arsene had a squad full of central midfielders and used them on the wings, fullbackpositions and even in attack. We still play players out of position like that these days, and end up lacking width and penetration (and often pace too) when it happens. Especially since Theo fancies himself as a striker.
We can't know who Spurs are selling but I'd cautious of stockpiling CM's.

Why is Adebayor so salty? Oh wait, cause he actually sprinted in position for a cheapo. No one in their right mind would make that pass. And I had 1000 players to choose from who WOULD make it, he'd be 1001.

Now is the time for Dembele and Dempsey to remember how they played at Fulham last year.

Fuck! Everton! I guess I'll do with 1 point.
Come on Sunderland, if you're going to hire a fascist asshole, the least you could do is hold on for one week.

Anfield is the quietest ground I have ever been to, ever. Maybe 'cos it was a Sunday, but still. People give Arsenal stick, but I think the Emirates is good for atmosphere. Very pleased with a point.

Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
Pretty entertaining derby, until the last 5 minutes at least. Couple of thoughts:
Was it just me or was United extra bitchy? I mean I know they generally are but it seemed like they spent more time looking at the ref than they did setting up shots.
Phil Jones is a beast (if he stays healthy). He is also a faggot. Actually, the entire United backline is.
Rooney leads with his elbows and arms out every time he jumps for a ball.
Milner is most underrated player in the EPL.
I think we all might have forgotten how good Aguero is.
Silva is a pussy.
I don't understand SAF's patterns. Why didn't he start Valencia and Kagawa and why did he wait so long to bring on Hernandez? I don't watch a lot of United matches but I heard that Welbeck has scored once in Premier matches this year?
