If this was based entirely on people i saw play live (actually at a game, not on TV), my list would be hilarious and feature guys like rashad mccants and Lamar Odom. I saw both those losers have career nights against the knicks.

I was born in 1984, so I missed Magic and Bird's peak. Saw the end of their careers which was still really really good but since I missed their peak, I wont use them on my Mt Rushmore.

Jordan
Lebron
Shaq
Duncan

Shout out to Hakeem, Kobe and Barkley.

I was born in 86 and didn't seriously watch basketball until early 00s. I'm not counting people I only saw replays of their best games. Who should I have over kg?

*edit*
KG > Kobe, so don't know how everyone else's list is fine with you.

Didn't you say earlier you didn't see Jordan play and had no desire to look at older games of his?
That was part of his derrick rose is the most exciting player he ever saw argument, Hayzoos is to young to remember Jordan playing but apparently is pretending he did here.
Hey, by the way who's Curt?

I was was born in 1990. My argument then was that sports need to be watched live to really get the full effect of how exciting it is. Watching something happen live is a lot different than watching highlights later on.

Look, we're getting way too hype about Durant. Yeah he took it up a notch but let's be real here.....if Lebron wasn't coasting, this Durant for MVP BS wouldn't really be a thing. Lebron is having a meh season by his standards and that is the reason why Durant and Lebron is a discussion right now.

There was a good 4 year span during Shaq's prime when people were legit wondering if we were watching probably the best player of all time and would anyone be close enough to even watch the throne (at that time not of all time) at all. Before he stopped caring about conditioning, this guy was a force of nature. We were talking about him in the same way we talked about Lebron.

Durant has had 3 great years and one and a half Hall of Fame caliber years. Can we chill the fuck out before we make complete fools of ourselves? I know you are young, Hayzoos but you aren't like 14 years old though, right?
word shaq might not be the best overall player I ever seen, but in his prime he was without question the most physically dominating NBA player I have ever seen, it was truly a sight to see

Watch the games, not the highlights. You watch all the old bulls ones? Or basing your opinion on Jordan from what you saw when you were about 6 years old?

You can't have it both ways Hayzoos, one minute you are saying Rose is the most exciting player you ever saw and now you are saying Jordan is your top 4 but you never saw him play live, but you are stressing that seeing players live gives you the full effect?

wtf bro?

My newfound hatred of Shaq has kind of tarnished my view of him as a player. Dude was out of this world good, but I think KD can and will have more of an impact than him.

 highly unlikely, but possible. however even a complete idiot like you must concede that at this point, depending on when you started watching basketball, shaq actually has a legitimate case for being on nba's mount rushmore, whereas KD does not. this is not a mount rushmore based on potential.

This is incredibly stupid, even for you. You have lost the right to ever comment on basketball.

None of us in our lifetimes have seen Kareem play in his prime consistently.

Unless you are an OG Godfather Marlon Brando Piru like Tweak.

Like I saw Kareem at the tail end of his career and as a child, I could barely process what I was watching.
