Perhaps nothing captures the Griffin evolution into a finesse player quite like this fact: He leads all players in alley-oop assists this season. You read that right. Alley-oop assists.

That's good defense, but that also shows why Mark Jackson was such an imbecile. I never liked Steph as an isolation player - he doesn't really have the explosiveness needed to consistently go one on one. Mark Jackson is just a dumb man.

Looks like Melo is getting shut down...
Carmelo Anthony told ESPN Radio on Thursday that he is "very likely" to shut down after the All-Star Game.
It would appear Melo is going to succumb to the reported pressure to shut down this season. He had some knee soreness on Monday and was in visible pain. He didn't surpass any of his season averages from last year in the major stat categories and had an identical 32.4 usage rate. His fantasy owners can consider cutting him, but it makes more sense for this news to solidify first. Meanwhile, nobody wants to step up for the Knicks on the wing. Tim Hardaway Jr. has made just 37.0 percent from the field for 12.6 points per game in his six starts at small forward. Langston Galloway has been awful in his last seven, making just 28.9 percent from the field while his assists fell to 2.9 per game with little else. Lance Thomas missed Wednesday and did have a couple bright spots, but it's hard to count on a 26-year-old forward who hasn't done much in his career before this season. Maybe Cleanthony Early steps up.

this has been a terribly kept secret though. ever since he told people that he's eventually going to need surgery on his knee, people were targeting after the all star break as the point where he stops playing. he wanted to play ambassador before he got surgery.
