By the way, I'm CONTEMPLATING taking the opposite of what seems obvious on every NFL game tomorrow.

I mean, Steelers -3.5 is just way too easy. How can this NOT be a TD win at least for Pitt. So I'm taking the Broncos

I'm also taking the Eagles, the Seahawks, and the Cowboys I think because they're giving up way too many points in my opinion.

It's so hard to bet this way though, because if everything that I THINK would happen (Steelers dominate, Bears, Vikings, Rams keep it close ENOUGH), I'll feel like a complete moron for betting against those feelings.

I dont know, I just feel like there's a reason the Steelers are only favored by 3.5, and it's not that the sportsbooks are feeling generous.

My picks this week. I realize the spread changed waiting 30 minutes for the games start, but oh well.

Select #1 : NFL Football
Atlanta Falcons 10/21/2007 1:00:01 PM - (EST)

I bet a ton of games. I just have to, can't control myself. Went against my instincts on nearly all of them. Of course those instincts would probably have led me to an amazing week.

Here are my favorites:

Bills +3 (think they can win straight up, should be a really low scoring game with a lot of field goals)

Pats/Dolphins Under 51.5 (I just don't see the Dolphins scoring much against the Pats D. Can anyone name any players on the Dolphins offense other than Lemon, Ronnie Brown, or Ginn Jr? Okay I just thought of a few more. Even with a Pats blowout I don't see the score getting to the 50s)

Chiefs/Raiders over 37.5 (The secret to the Raiders this season is that their offense has been great behind the running game, but their defense has not been what it was last year. They give up a lot of points, but they should be able to put some up as well)

Is VY out? That line just went from Texans +1 to Texans -2

Collins is starting, but VY is not on the inactive list so he technically could play.

huge indians fan, obviously.

so, i just hedged my happiness.

i bet several units on the red sox tonight. tribe wins, they're in the world series, and fucka 4 units. if they lose, i'm crushed, yet up 4 units.

horrible, i know, but i went 5-0-1 on the day (and at one point, tell me vikings +10 didn't look golden?), and have money to spare in the account..

thoughts?

personally, i think it's genius.

funny thing is, i actually could arb it for free monies right now, as the line has been PLUMMETING from boston (-150) earlier in the day, and on the same book as the original bet, cleveland can be had for +162...

*shrug*

if it were anything else, i'd take the free money and move on. however, i'd rather have the insurance.

Well, the Steelers fucked me last night. I thought they would at least win against Denver.

hah. Anyway, here's to the Colts tonight, and the Sharks. I'll be back to even for the weekend if these play out.

Colts(Indianapolis) -3 (-120)

Colts1Q -0.5 (+115)

Sharks(SanJose) +110

Oh, and I just bet a couple bucks that there would be less than 16.5 goals tonight in the three hockey games. Should be a safe bet. 'Canes vs. Canucks, Bruins vs. Habs, Sharks vs. Flames.
how about you ease up on the hotdogs?

I took the Colts and Under for tonight.

I've heard about a system where you take the opposite of the Sunday Night games results. Sounds absurd but apparently it's done fairly well

So last night the Dog covered and it went over.

Tonight go with the favorite and under.

lol, fuck it, I'll try anything at this point.

Had a pretty shitty day made okay by the Broncos, Bills, and Lions.

Just about everything else I bet fell apart (Raiders, Eagles, Texans, just about every over/under)

Thank god for this World Series matchup.

I don't think the game's going to be that close, then again, I thought the Steelers were good for at least a 7 point lead against the Broncos even at Mile High.

See I actually think the Jags will keep it VERY close and could win.

So I'm betting the Colts

That's actually why I think they're going to have a good game tonight. Jacksonville isn't bad, that's for sure, and they're fighting for #1 in the division right now, but I think Indy has this.

Atlanta +9 @ New Orleans
N.Y. Giants -9 vs. San Francisco

Lock of the Week
Kansas City +2.5 @ Oakland

Hopefully I don't pick 1-5 next week like I did the last time I went 5-1.

4/4 tonight.

Sharks almost scored too many goals, but I wouldn't have minded, it's the best hockey they've played all year.

Okay, for hockey tonight I'm going with this:

Colorado
Chicago
Anaheim
Los Angeles
Pittsburgh
Toronto

There are a couple tough ones here. I think Edmonton very well could beat Colorado. The Rangers can beat the Penguins, but I'm looking for the Pens to take it.

OVUN:

NYR vs. Pit Over 6
ATL vs. Tor Under 6.5
CHI vs. CBJ Under 5
CAVs vs Edm Over 5.5
LAK vs. Nash Under 6
Ana vs. St. L Under 5

I was completely wrong on the OVUN, and 3/6 on the money line. I ended up doing a parlay (after seeing the Leafs and Ducks fuck up) with LA and Colorado and came out even in the end.

Already on Rutgers tonight.
my bad...I always forget to check this thread...

i didnt do so hot in the nfl this past week...5-5 on straight bets..0-2 on two parlays though (I never play them and this is why) ...way too many bets, tried to play what had been a hot hand (not that i got crushed)

Thinking about baseball tonight...I've been saying I'd ride the AL team for a while now, but with everyone on the sox so heavy i am not so sure...plus I don't like cheering for boston in the world series...might just do the over/under...conventional wisdom says the under...im leanign towards the over, despite the rockies bats with the long layoff

I was going to bet on the Sox but the money would be bittersweet. I was going to bet on the Rockies but I think that's just foolish.

I decided to stick to football and hockey this week.

Oh, actually, I put a couple bucks on the series length.

I think I chose Sox in 4, 6, and Rockies 5.

I think the Sox will sweep, if not, I think the Sox will take it the first game home after going to Colorado. I only think the Rockies will win if they keep the series in Colorado, and I figure they'll at least lose one. It's only like $5 a bet. Just a fun one.

Tonight for hockey I'm just going with the money line:

Flyers, Redwings, Wild, Lightning, 'Canes.

The Wild hasn't lost yet and Calgary's hungry, so that will be interesting to watch.

Lightning v. Capitals could go either way.

'Canes v. Sabres could go either way.

Flyers and Redwings are almost sure bets though.

That's why I'm so glad I got those futures.

I've outlayed $50 and will win at least $200 with either team winning and the best part is I don't have to bet anymore for the remainder of the series! I'm going to bet a little on the red sox to win the series if the Rockies by any chance ever get the upper hand

I bet Virginia Tech -3 for tomorrow, and have a list of games I'm betting for Saturday and Sunday. I'll post those up later. Basically continuing to fade the top 25 in college.
