Sevilla!
BTW, interested in the boards opinion: who do you think is better right now, Barcelona or Madrid?

There's no question who the better side has been this year. Madrid hasn't hit their stride.
Lots of after the whistle faggotry going on in the Sevilla game.

Some crazy results yesterday, in the Premiership and the Championship. I went to the Norwich game at Carrow Road. Awful. So boring.

Jozzzzyyyyyyy! a brace n assist at half, a little lucky and getting great service, in particular the looping pass for his second, but he is back at it again.

Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
I have to say, Altidore suprised me today. People know I'm not his biggest fan, but he did well for himself today. He lacks some qualities and he has some glaring weaknesses, but he might be better than I suspected. He's actually a smarter player than I give him credit for. He knows what he does and how he positions himself. He has great atheleticism. He can finish. His technique and control over the ball are lacking, and I wonder if he still outsmarts defenders if he plays against better opposition.
Jozy is lucky to be a towering attacker. His strength makes him hard to defend in the Netherlands, as most teams rely on pacy and/or technical strikers. So Jozy has that advantage. And I hate his post-game interviews. Such a typical brainwashed American sportsman. Every word he utters is one big cliche.

To be fair this is the best *start* of a season he has ever had, I'm just hamming it up. You're right about the Dutch league, he is too strong for many of the defenders and too fast for the guys who are as strong as him. I think playing around more technical players has helped his combination play. Still has a long way to go, but exciting for a Yank to see him play like this. They were kinda clowning him in the post game about not speaking Dutch and about his "assist".

Haha darkie and macca reporting that obertan refused to come on. Hilarious.
Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
Holy shit, Everton got absolutely jobbed today. Two goals robbed from them, and Baines was terrific. Great game to watch though.
Nice for Tottenham to finally get that first win. Sigurdsson played better this go round. Great to get Bale on the score sheet as well. Liked that Dempsey finally got on the field. I guess they're going to take it slowly with him
.
Some great games this Sunday. Liverpool vs. Man United and City vs. Arsenal amongst them.

Tottenham looks to be coming together nicely. I think once all the pieces of the puzzle start to mesh a little bit better than we're going to be pretty damn good. At least I really fucking hope so.
Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
Champions League kicks off tonight. We play an away game over at Borussia Dortmund. Really hope for a good result. I honestly think Ajax can compete tonight, but at the same time it won't suprise me if we lose with a pretty wide margin. Let's hope for the best, though!

Great match but that winning goal was some bullshit. I can't believe Madrid pulled that shit off. All their goals came out of nowhere. Yaya is such a boss though.

Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
Absolutely brilliant, as those Brits say. A close second was the combination of Johns Obi Mikel and Terry teaming up to piss the match away.
Champions League football is so good. Has not disappointed thus far although I'm still salty about Madrid and Barcelona somehow pulling their shit out at the last minute. And I'm glad to know that Man United aren't treated any differently than usual just because the refs aren't from the Premier League. Gotta make sure they continue to be officiated like always.

The UEFA must have been furious that the refs allowed Basel to progress at the expense of United last year. They'll make sure that mistake isn't repeated.stupidregister wrote:And I'm glad to know that Man United aren't treated any differently than usual just because the refs aren't from the Premier League.
