Couldn't tell you, but my guess is they don't want him to see sit out the year, nor retire. Most of my friends are blind, Kobe dickriders, and don't see how he is ruining everything in the organization. The sooner he is gone, the better.

Ever since Jerry Buss died the organization has been in a downward spiral. It doesn't help having Kobe stick around to fuck things up even more.

Nobody in the East is going to beat Atlanta

I remember when nobody wanted to sign Kyle Korver, he is about to be the first in the 50/50/90 club

-felt good watching sunday morning basketball.
-van gundy kept talking about how korver is an all-star??? i get his value, but no way.
-4 hawks going to the all-star???? no way. i'm all about rewarding winning, but no. this is the all star game folks.

my east reserves would be:
bosh
butler
millsap
irving
horford (even though it should be love. don't care what you have to say, love is a perennial all star. not his fault the coach doesn't know how to use him)
wade
teague or korver (take your pick, but don't pick both. the team is not that good to have 4 all-stars. 3 is being generous)

west:
harden
thompson
durant
westbrook
chris paul
cousins
aldridge
duncan or dirk (take your pick. they are both legends)
lillard (replacing kobe)

horford over teague and korver solves your problem. other than that, looks good to me.

when did no one want korver? his stock has never been this high, but teams have always wanted him. that will be insane if he achieves 50/50/90 though! can't believe he would be the first.

chicago and cleveland will both beat the hawks in a playoff series. wizards and miami are a toss against the hawks.

I don't think Love has earned that "perennial" all star level. And he definitely doesn't deserve it this year.

Blockhead wrote:I don't think Love has earned that "perennial" all star level. And he definitely doesn't deserve it this year.

The all-star game is supposed to have the nba's best talents (and fan's favorite players). love at his worst is averaging 17/10. not to mention the fact that he is not even involved/utilized on offense by blatt (shame). i could give a shit about numbers, but this is the all-star game afterall. his team is 5th in the weak east so it's not like his team is horrible. again, even without the numbers he's still a top 10 nba talent. he needs to be there even if it means he just sits on the bench.

i'm a big fan of leonard too. i wouldn't mind if duncan says he wants to stay home and rest and lets leonard attend the all star game for him.

edit: a good example of why love should be there is like how durant should be there this year despite missing half the season. Even if durant had only played two reg season games he should be there imo. granted durant and love are not the same, but if durant is available to play then he needs to be at the all star game (he has the talent and popularity = all star game). same goes for love to a degree, especially when you look at his competition in the east.

^That's kind of an argument for the fans voting people in. Which makes it more of a "most popular player" game and less about who's actually accomplished things. I get why people want that (but we all know that most NBA fans are fucking morons who would gladly vote in Kobe this year even though he's been hurt and on a terrible team) but, to me, I want the most deserving people there.
Also, Comparing KD and Love is a bit rich. While I don't think a hypothetically injured KD should get in based of two games be played in a season he's also last years MVP and clearly one of the top 3 players in the game. Love? Not so much. He's a very good player but also a stat stuffing guy who doesn't particularly help teams he's on win.

Former NBA player turned CBS sports commentator Greg Anthony agreed to pay a D.C. police officer who was working undercover as a prostitute $80 for sex and said “oh yeah” when the officer asked Anthony if Anthony wanted the officer to “dress up.”

According to the charging documents submitted to D.C. Superior Court this past weekend in Anthony’s Jan. 16 arrest, D.C. undercover officers were responding to “complaints” about prostitution activity in the 1500 block of Rhode Island Avenue NW. Anthony was arrested at the Doubletree Hotel in room 805.

Anthony, 47, responded to an escort ad that was placed on Backpage.com by the undercover officer who was part of the Human Trafficking Unit.

Anthony was in the Washington area to announce the University of Maryland-Michigan State game Saturday afternoon in College Park, Md. for CBS Sports, where he has worked since 2008. CBS News released a statement saying Anthony has been suspended indefinitely and will not be working for CBS this season.

According to the charging documents, when the undercover officer arrived at Anthony’s room around 5:45 p.m. the undercover officer said it cost $80 for sex. Anthony immediately tried to rebuff such talk and said “Oh I don’t wanna say all that.” The undercover officer responded “I just need to know so I don’t have any surprises.”

After the two discussed the type of sex, the undercover officer then asked “You want me to dress up?” Anthony responded "oh yeah.” No further details were given.

The undercover officer then gave a signal for the arrest team to move in. Anthony was arrested and charged with misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution. Anthony is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 2.

Anthony, a father of four, lives in Del Ray Beach, Fla., with his wife. He played in the NBA for 12 years for the New York Knicks, the Portland Trail Blazers and teams in Vancouver, Seattle, Milwaukee and Chicago before beginning his career as a commentator.

i agree that horford is an all-star. so is millsap. but i'm not sold on all star status for teague (but can live with it), and def not for korver. wall and irving are clearly better.
