Arenas took a shit in Blatche's shoe

Former Wizards coach Eddie Jordan and his staff privately intimated they felt undermined by Grunfeld when it came to matters of discipline with Arenas. Arenas, a notorious practical joker, often crossed the line of acceptable decorum. The example often cited was how Arenas once defecated in teammate Andray Blatche's shoe during Blatche's rookie season. His behavior often went unchecked and unpunished, said a former team employee on condition of anonymity.

The employee said Arenas would get fined for breaking team rules -- such as being late for practices or team flights -- and Arenas would sometimes have his money returned. Jordan tried to push Arenas to be a better defender. But one former coach said Jordan inevitably felt that wouldn't happen after a game against Portland, when Arenas was held to just nine points -- coming 41 shy of his stated goal of reaching 50. After the game, Arenas complained that Jordan's focus on defense kept him from scoring the way he wanted.

Jordan called the called the criticism "ludicrous" and questioned Arenas's leadership skills. Jordan and Arenas met to clear the air a few days later, but instead of backing the coach, Grunfeld said at the time, "In the heat of the moment, a lot of things get said but Gil's won a lot of games for us and he'll continue to win a lot of games for us."

"Hella" was an overstatement but this one is probably my favorite, this was during the 01-02 season, Gil's first season with us.

I'm sure yall remember the Jail Blazer squads from earlier this decade, as usual shit got hectic and on this particular night at the arena a decent brawl broke out on the court. What does this fool Gilbert do, he grabs the gatorade cooler and runs out onto the court looking to mollywhop the first black/red jersey he sees, knocking Dave Cowens over in the process.

It was later put out there that after the game, Chris Mills, one of the few actual NBA goons, still wasn't happy with the words/blows that were exchanged on the court so what does he do? This nigga holds the Portland bus hostage in the parking lot, standing in front of it not letting them leave, accompanied by a glock 30 and none other than Gilbert Arenas. Gil wasn't armed, but allegedly when asked what he and Chris were doing outside the Portland bus with weapons he denied knowing anything about Mills firearm and simply said the two of them were "looking for funk." smh.



I also saw the bamma straight up refuse to pay a barber for his cut downtown because he had gotten a ticket and apparently it was the barbers fault for not informing Gil that we was parked in a 15 minute zone.

Dudes antics are funny but he's not right in the head.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Portland Trail Blazers weren't apologizing for their latest trouble.

"It's not about reputation,'' Portland's Scottie Pippen said. "They lost the game. It's about their reputation, too. Are we supposed to lay over as cowards? No.''

Following a brawl that started seconds after Portland's 113-111 victory over Golden State on Friday night, the Warriors' Antawn Jamison said the Blazers "have a lot of hotheads.''

"I don't think we dislike each other,'' said Jamison, who was on his way to the locker room and missed the fight altogether. "In a close game like that, there's a lot of emotion involved, and sometimes guys go over the top.''

NBA security officials have spent much of Saturday interviewing various fight participants from both teams. ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports that the league office hopes to announce the resulting suspensions and fines before the Blazers' home game Saturday night against Seattle -- provided it can complete its investigation in time.

Rasheed Wallace won the game on a difficult turnaround jumper at the buzzer. Closer to the basket, however, Portland's Bonzi Wells and Golden State's Chris Mills were battling for position and were still tied up after Wallace's shot went through.

As the two exchanged words and began pushing each other, the Warriors' Troy Murphy entered the fray and threw punches. the Blazers' Ruben Patterson and Murphy then began fighting, with both teams pushing each other as coaches and officials tried to restore order.

Pippen said the disturbance never should have escalated that far. "There was no reason he shouldn't let Bonzi go,'' Pippen said, referring to Mills.

The situation was made worse by fans throwing wads of gum and plastic beer bottles at the Blazers as they headed for the locker room. One man was handcuffed and subdued by four security officers. He threw gum at Wallace, sparking another confrontation with several Blazers.

One Portland player, who could not immediately be identified, started up the stairs into the stands, and a couple others, including Wallace, were trying to grab the fan.

Mills reportedly tried to get into the Blazers' locker room but was restrained.

Later, as the Blazers' bus tried to leave the arena, Mills parked his car in front of it, got out with several friends and challenged the Blazers, The Oregonian newspaper reported. The bus wasn't able to leave until Oakland police arrived to provide an escort.

In November, Blazers general manager Bob Whitsitt apologized to fans on behalf of him and owner Paul Allen after a series of run-ins with the law by Portland players.

"We have to do a better job, our players have to do a better job, we have to get it right,'' Whitsitt said then. "This is embarrassing, it's disappointing, it's frustrating. I'm sure we've got a lot of angry fans.''

Last month, Patterson was charged with assaulting his wife, less than a week after guard Damon Stoudamire and Wallace were cited for marijuana possession. The case against Patterson was dropped because his wife declined to press charges.

Stoudamire and Wallace were cited Nov. 22 after the vehicle they were riding in was stopped for speeding in southern Washington after a Blazers game in Seattle.

Earlier in November, Wells was suspended for one game by the NBA for spitting on San Antonio's Danny Ferry during a game.

I don't believe in the barber story. He just doesn't seem the type.

^Parking lot incident still wasn't widely known tot he public, I mean it took the L years to take any kind of action against Mills (he's a large part of the reason that anti gun policy was issued in 05). My point was that not a lot of people know Gil was one of those "friends" sittin shotgun in Mills SUV.

As for him not being the type to short a barber, I'm tellin you son is crazy.

I was working at the down town Marriott/convention center at the same time Gilbert was playing for us and I was a around him a more than a handful of times and he definitely does not seem like the type. Still, he was always one of those guys that was so charismatic and socially adept that it didn't even make sense, you just knew something was up.
