Horrortackle from Sidwell. Hope Arteta isnt injured.
Even Jol had to admit it was a disgusting tackle.

'I can't defend him because that would only sound ridiculous,' Jol said.
'I was annoyed with him, but he says it is not intentional. He will regret that tackle.'

Well Arsenal have shown they're able to squeak by teams that only have 10 men on the pitch. They're not exactly playing inspired football now.
At least Giroud got a red for doing the same thing Sidwell did. Only going to be available for one game of the final four now...

Suarez the Cannibal! I don't care if he's the best player on the club, sell this faggot please.

if United win tomorrow, they win the league
which would mean RVP would get a guard of honour at Emirates next week

TBH I'm not sure what the guard of honor is. But as long as MUFC and him don't win the league @ the Emirates (like when Arsenal won it @ OT) then I'll be ok.Req wrote:if United win tomorrow, they win the league

Massive result for Spurs, it seems they're in the driver's seat now. They deserve a Top 4 finish much more than Arsenal do.
Suarez, what can you say about the dude. He's a fucking goal-scoring lunatic.

How come? Surely that's decided by how many points they finish with?stupidregister wrote:They deserve a Top 4 finish much more than Arsenal do.

Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
Technically, of course. But Spurs have played much more consistently throughout the season and have won their important matches (vs. Arsenal, vs. City) while having European commitments later in the year. Arsenal couldn't top Everton at home (a team that lost to Sunderland the next week), struggled to top 10-man Fulham and have essentially no quality wins all year. Their big goal difference comes from outscoring bottom table clubs by 3 or 4. I thought this game would make or break Spurs and they showed some great resolve. If they still can't manage a Top 4 finish this year, despite Arsenal looking like shit and continuing to sell their top players, I have no idea what to tell you.Y@k Bollocks wrote:How come? All of those reasons cited are tendentious and kneejerk.stupidregister wrote:Technically, of course. 1) Spurs have not been more consistent. Have you looked at their formcurve since beating Arsenal @ WHL? Arsenal have amassed 19 points out of the last 21 available. If Spurs were more consistent they would have been ahead in the table.
2) Arsenal beat Spurs too.
3) Arsenal have had much tougher European commitments for almost as long.
4) Who cares if Arsenal played sluggishly in a game they won anyway?
5) It is correct that Arsenal have a better goaldifference because they have scored more goals against teams lower in the league, while Spurs have been scraping wins against those same teams. But whats your point?
Bottomline: Arsenal had one of their worst seasons since Wenger took over almost two decades ago. Spurs are having one of their best seasons of all time. But does that mean they deserve it more?
Its been a good weekend. 3 points in a tough away fixture and Chelsea dropped points too. Stop being so miserable.

I don't know about that, we got away with some shit, Benny could have been sent off. Seems like AVB had Huddlestone practicing the long pass these last 3 months. That makes up for the fact that has the moves like a turtle.Positive A wrote:One man Welsh club Gareth Bale FC topple City with relative ease!

City were not good. They were abhorrent in the second half. Spurs bossed. ESPECIALLY after AVB made the switch to bring on Hudd and Holtby.b0mbs_of_death wrote:I don't know about that, we got away with some shit, Benny could have been sent off. Its going to be an exciting close, but we've still got our work cut out for us. Arsenal are very much in the drivers seat.

Wish the Glazers could inject that Man U magic into my Bucs. I am a United fan until the end of the season, especially when they play Chelski and the Arse.
Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
Manchester United take the title - no major surprise there. They were the better team this season, as much as I don't like to admit it.
Suarez is surely gone from Liverpool? I'd like to think his stock would plummet like Di Canio's did after he pushed over a ref, but doubt it - I'm sure there are still plenty of clubs who would kill for his signature.

Hats off to Manchester United.
I must admit, I kind of wanted Villa to win last night and relegate QPR and Reading, who are now talking about boycotting the last game of the season (at West Ham) because it's "too expensive".

Re: Official European Football 2012 Regular Season Thread
LOL well no shame in losing to Bayern in Munich but Barca have been awful. Looks like Pep made the right call.
And not that I'm complaining about the refs cause the game was pretty much over but that Mueller body check on Alba was pretty clowning.
