Live draft this year?

LIVE DRAFT. and lets get the STATS straight this year. Poppa tried changing shit up last year for defensive stats. I see you Pop!

1 pt for defensive tackles! defense should be just as important as your offense. dont hate on the 1 pt tackles 3 pt interceptions 2 pt fumble recoveries, and 3 pt sacks

rush over 215 yards = 10 points
receiving 215 yars = 10 points
throw for over 425 = 10 points
defensive shutout = 10 points

Wait - Aren't we picking individual defense players? Not just a team defense, right? I think its more fun to choose your 8 man defensive team. Choosing both offense and defensive players makes it more of a challenge to draft with strategy. People put too much weight on guys like L.T, Shaun, and Peyton, that they forget about your top notch defensive players who can score 180+ pts in a fantasy season.

Need good balance.

I'm not completely opposed to the offensive BONUS pt system, but it gives those elite RB's and QB's a clear advantage over your defensive players. Last year worked out really well with the system we used

20 yds rushing = 1 pt
50 yds passing = 1 pt
TD = 6 pts
20 yds receiving = 1pt

defensive tackle = 1pt
interception = 3 pts
fumble recovery = 2 pts
safety = 2pts
sack = 3 pts

everything was balanced.

Is there money involved?

This crazy league I am in, we do invidual D players, but I feel sort of like a purist about it. Tackles are not an official stat, and things like sacks and whatnot are routinely overturned during the week.

A guy rolls out to pass and gets sacked. Later it is determined that he was going towards the line, thus it is a rush...

I hate that.

Do we want to do a $20 paypal thing? How can we do this correctly if we want to do a money league. Let's not get crazy but.. something to make you think about.

maybe pay scale it? 1st 50% 2nd 30% 3rd place 20%

i like the offensive bonus idea.

offensive players SHOULD be picked before defensive players. it'd be weird to see someone take someone like urlacher in the first or second round.

however the point totals are pretty jacked. 10 points? maybe 5 points each?

rushing over 200?
catching over 180 (since 200 yars receiving is far less common then rushing for it)?
and throwing over 425?

1.) no money involved because its not fair for everyone. but we should have personal side bets if we like.

paid league, however it's 50 bucks. if you want in holla at dwight straw.

3.) i like the bonus points idea. so i'm cool with either 5 or 10 points to spice things up.

i do believe it should be 200 rushing/180 receiving.

4. 12 players TOTAL. we don't want to make this league too spread out and end up with trent dilfer as our starting QB.
