I could do just fine without baseball. Football on the other hand would have me going through withdraws. Baseball is only important to me at the MLB level, i follow football all the way from high school to the pros.

Imagine you had to choose between a Conference championship and a League championship game. You have no personal rooting interest involved (none of your favorite or most hated teams) Both games are evenly matched and should be very competitive.Tweak Da Leak wrote:how can I choose?
Which one do you choose?
Another scenario - do you watch a random college football game or a college baseball game?

I'm a fan of both sports though, football a little more. NBA is my favorite.

What level of each sport? There's differences. I'd much rather watch a College Football game than a College Baseball Game and I don't even give a shit about College Football, Choosing between an NFL game and an MLB game would be more of a challenge though.
Choosing between individual games in each sport doesn't really make it easier because by their nature they are inherently uneven sports. Baseball has 162 games in a season. Football has only 16. The chances of your average regular season Baseball game, or for that matter your average regular season Basketball or Hockey game mattering as much as the average regular season NFL game are pretty slim. If it was a game that determined who was going to win a pennant or make the 8th seed or whatever it would be a tougher choice. This makes it difficult to compare Football to any other major North American team sport really. Basketball and Baseball game are near every day things, a part of your daily life. Football games are weekly super "events" like major rock concerts, with more time spent preparing and talking about the game than the game itself. This also makes it more of a letdown when the game turns out boring.
That said;
College: NCAA Basketball>>>>>College Football>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>College Baseball>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>College Hockey
Pros: NBA>>MLB>NFL>>>>>>NHL

if i had to chose i would pick football. In baseball there are so many more games. if i had to go from the end of the NBA season to the begining of the NFL season without sports I'd go crazy.
i would hate to lose football, but honestly i miss half the games Sunday and who knows where i am on Monday nights.
i can always catch a baseball game, on a random channel at any time of day.
THANK THE GOD I GOT THE NFL NETWORK FOR THIS YEAR!

when it gets the point where games are almost meaningless till after midway point it takes away the dramatics... besides football I don't know anything that can make me look forward to a Sunday, and with 16 games everyone counts.artMajor wrote:too many games? thats a good thing! there's always a game on.naturalborn103 wrote:Football by miles...baseball is boring and too much games, only start watching in the last month or less.
natural, i also want to steal your sig, let me know when you retire it!
and with the sig..I think I change it on average about once every 2 years so you might have a while to wait, sorry....

I know what I'm getting with the MLB.
Football is too gay with all of the roster turnover, injuries, and overall lack of continuity from year to year.
Can you rely on team stats in the NFL with all of the various factors that come into play? Can the Colts allow 5.5 yards per rushing attempt in 2006 and all of a sudden qualify as a good defensive team in 2007 w/ pretty much the same personnel?
That said, I still love football. Hell, I played from 3rd grade through my senior year of high school, so it was my favorite sport for a while there. I long for the days when I used to high five dudes in the showers.
