i take it u are not from the west coast, have no affinity for g funk or early 80s vocoder/talk box vocals of the roger troutman/herbie hancock variety, and have little to no sense of humor about your muzakbinary wrote:You being serious? how did i miss this thread?
bought the 2cd toeachizown last week and its not perfect, but highly original and really dope.
yeah i started researching dude after i got into RED, even though i prefer the CHOPS remix, i still have mad respect for the funk and west coast sound.
ill prolly buy the other 3 mp3 cds from stones throw. but yeah, those dudes are crazy with their anti-bootlegging practices.

Dam Funk "Funk's Revenge"
Mix CD and T-shirt
Brought to you by 101 Apparel and Dam-Funk
Coming straight from Los Angeles, Dam Funk is known as the "Boogie Funk Ambassador", an artist who has been working since the mid 80's as a mult-instrumentalist, DJ, record collector, producer and vocalist; this guy is a renaissance man of all things funk. In the last couple years he has been getting an avalanche of press over his modern funk productions with a sound that brims with vintage synthesizers, stuttering handclaps, and low slung grooves that conjures late night drives through the Los Angeles metropolis. Working in the tradition of Slave, early Prince, Prelude Records and ZAPP, here is a sound that is spiritual and robotic, iconoclastic yet still rooted in the tradition of his elders.
It is a great honor we present to you the Dam-Funk "Funk's Revenge" Mix CD and T-shirt. This special collaboration includes a mix cd by Dam Funk himself and t-shirt design inspired by one of Dam Funk's favorite album covers.

^^^ i enjoy his interviews and his personality actually more than his music..lol dude is a character
i never saw him act like he did on his bday last year at funkmosphere.lol he was all hyped up and aggressive..when one of the djs played one of his favorites, he got on the mic and screamed in the most gangsterish voice, THIS IS MY SHIT YALL!
that had me dying...![n ](./images/smilies/icon_twrex_ROFLburger.gif)
another thing that cracks me up is one of his favorite catch phrases during his dj sets...whenever the record skips, he will say verbatim, without fail, "that's the beauty of wax, yall! you never know what's gonna happen"
lol its incredible.
the last thing i can say is...just don't tease dam funk...![n ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
