thats whats good , thanks AWAE.

just a quick formation off my head and its prolly overproduced as far as anything youd think for hendrix

dave grohl on drums. he could knock hard on them drums
then id put les claypool on a bass setup. think hed run some serious lines against hendrix grooves
backing up hendrix id even put slash i dont know maybe not. i dont even think someone who stands out should be rhythm with jimi.

not too sure about bass.
on drums i'd go with the drummer from Mars Volta. dude goes hard. Maybe ?uestlove for a little funk and soul.

Good call. Natural successor to Buddy Miles.

Its sad to think about the great stuff Band of Gypsys couldve/wouldve done had Hendrix been around a little longer.

this would be terrible because all 4 are band leaders.

you need supporting guys for Jimmi. John Paul Jones on bass, Billy Cobham on drums, Jon Lord keyboards, no second guitar.

Jimi Hendrix on lead guitar
Jack White on rhythm guitar
Flea on bass
Neil Peart on drums

Why in the hell are all of you picking ?love on drums? He is average at best when compared to other pro musicians. As long as Neil Peart's heart is beating, he would be my drummer.

Supergroups are kind of like the "what if" scenario. It might seem like a good idea on paper, and sometimes it works, but it can be really underwhelming too.

Like Them Crooked Vultures.. Don't get me wrong, I like all their separate projects, and the album is way beyond average, but it just didn't live up to my expectations.

(I heard they wrote and recorded very fast though, so I still have really high hopes for the next album.)

There was some album with Robert Fripp on guitar, Les Claypool on Bass, and the guy from Tool on drums. Also great album, but sounded like a better idea on paper.

Has anyone heard the Hendrix album that was just released last year called Valleys of Neptune? It was actually approved by his family, and had some songs and alternate versions that were never officially released before.

Oh, I am sure they are on some next level shit live. I was disappointed when I missed a show near me.

The stuff on Songs For The Deaf with Dave Grohl was just :ohsh: insane, but nothing on the Them Crooked Vultures album had that same energy. And it seems like it should have, because I consider John Paul Jones a better bass player than that QOTSA guy.

If only they couldve made a couple of official albums. Shit wouldve been ridiculous.
