Richie Havens
So, I've been looking for his version of "motherless child" that I heard in "Django Unchained" and ,in doing so, I realize this motherfucker has mad joints. I dunno why I always slept on him but, for some reason, I thought he was one of those Big Bopper , Richie Valens motherfuckers.
Anyway, I'm here to ask you good people if anyone has a good compilation of his stuff they wanna put up for download here? I'd get it myself but his catalogue is pretty daunting and I have no clue where to start.
Also if anyone got "motherless child", I'd appreciate it as well. Silly Kid gave a link in a different thread but it was down.
Help a bro out, bro.

Always loved his Woodstock performance.. never really investigaded either
Re: Richie Havens
Anyone got his "best" albums they can upload? Those links that Markshot posted seem sketchy.
I know he did a Beatles cover album which was pretty awesome.

Ive always dug his stuff when I heard it randomly, but have never found a compilation of his material that I felt was great. I think its partially because he worked within a few different genres. Had the same problem with Gil Scott Heron.

Re: Richie Havens
on the links.
The motherless child link is telling me permission denied though. Any chance someone could upload it to a different sharing site...divshare or mediafire maybe?

My go to site for avoiding copyright laws is divshare or sendspace. those dudes don't give a shit most of the time.

him playing freedom at woodstock is one of my favorite examples of how the right (picking) hand of a guitar player is more important than the hand playing actual notes
