popluar artists/groups you never cared for

Post by Philaflava »

I'm pretty sure we've had this thread done before, maybe even twice??!!??!

What popular groups do you not necessarily dislike but never really went out to buy or listen to their music? I seem to come across so many people who have this strong dislike for The Beatles, me I never was all that into The Stones. I like some of their music and if it was playing on the radio I may leave it, but I never went out of my way to buy or listen to their music.

Some other groups for various reasons I never got into.

Megadeath
The Grateful Dead

U2 seem tohave a fair amount of fans on here if previous threads regarding them are anything to go by, and not just the plastic paddies like Icesickle etc.

Retracting The Eagles from my list due to "Those Shoes" being a great song which has been sampled by Eric B. & Rakim and the Beasties.

The Smiths, but I think it's because I didn't hear them when I was supposed to.

I can appreciate stuff like that which I missed the boat on, but I can never fully get into it like I probably should.

Pretty sure more of the metalheads that post here don't like Megadeth than do.

Count me among their ranks.

Rust In Peace > 95% of all metal albums ever.

Holy Wars and Hangar 18 are better than 99% of all metal songs. Ever. EVER.

you're on crack. megadeth is the worst non-nu or power metal band i can think of. technical proficiency doesn't excuse how much of a shithead dave mustaine is.

rust in peace isnt that good of an album. peace sells is far and away the best megadeth album and might actually be the only one thats any good. personally i think its one of the best of that era.

You're all gay.

If Megadeth is the worst nu or power metal band you can think of, you don't think much.

Always thought of them as Thrash anyway.

i said non numetal or whatever. they're definitely thrash. and if you go by averages i guess they're actually probably better than metallica, they don't have anything 'st anger' bad. but megadeth are easily the worst of the 'big 4' 80s thrash bands, worse than anthrax even

Megadeth is that band with the hack from Metallica right? Failure all the way, was always a second rate thrash band. When I saw the Clash of the Titans tour, all Anthrax and Slayer did during their set was allude to the douchebagness of Dave Mustaine. Fuck that band.

Indeed, but I never had to listen to his annoying voice on any of the good Metallica records.

I would have to say Bonded by Blood, Reign in Blood, and Speak English or Die are much better than anything Megadeth put out, but then again, Mustaine annoys the shit out of me.
