And just so you know Kool DJ AJ Scratch is a hip hop godfather, he was both Kurtis Blowג€™s and Busy Bee Starskiג€™s DJ (the ג€™84 song AJ Scratch by Kurtis Blow bares his name and he helped co-write the Kurtis Blow song If I Ruled the World that appeared in the ג€™85 film / original soundtrack, Krush Groove).

Ah, Thatג€™s the Joint came out on White Diamond back in ג€˜82 and is one of the rarest hip hop records of all time so yeah, that price tag is pretty common. When it sells, it almost always tops out with three zeros, not two like with most other uncommon or hard to find records.

And while it is one of the most rare records, there are a few others that'll go for as much as twice what this goes for ('83's Mr. Magic's Be Bop Convention LP by Mr. Magic is one and '95's Break a Bitch Neck (Promo) 12" by Akinyele is another).

That's the jawn with Akinyele's "No Exit 2" or whatever it's named is on.
Allegedly only 12 copies ever pressed.
I knew homeboy Rob at the Sound Library had a copy for years.
He was such a big MF Doom fan that he said he was contemplating trading
it for the "I Hear Voices" vinyl (which I have if anyone needs a new rip). :naswtf:
I think he was just playing with my friend, but he did seem serious, and we
kept saying he was bs'ing, but he said he was serious.
Well, of course that never happened.

Anyways, I believe he sold his copy a few months ago for around $1200.
Which, honestly, I mean I could never afford that, but it's not a ridiculous
price for what it is.

There was recently a re-issue that looks just like the og, but IS NOT!!
Do NOT BUY!!
I think it's just the same rips that been floating around and it doesn't have
No Exit on it.

I been looking for "No Exit 2" for awhile.
I had it multiple times on tape from Stretch n Bobbito.
I'm pretty sure it's really the same lyrics, just with a different beat.
Great beat, though.

I was hoping with all the radio show rips surfacing, that this would have
been upped already, but it hasn't yet.
Trust me, I'm pretty sure I've gone through every single show that's been
upped here and at dirtywaters(which has stopped updating).

I wonder that shit too sometimes... I have over 15,000 original vinyls (mostly 12" singles and 12" EP's) and over 2,000 original CD's (all full albums and EP's with a few CD singles here & there). On top of that, I have hundreds of King Tech Wake Up Show tapes that I recorded myself along with TONS of mp3's of old radio shows ranging from Stretch & Bobbito to Future Flavas with Marley & Pete to Friday Night Flavas with the Baka Boys and later with the Beat Junkies, etc. My vinyl and CD collection is always getting bigger with all the new releases that come out and with the fact that I still continue to go out diggin for records (yes, I dig for records in actual record stores). Of course my mp3 collection keeps getting bigger as well as people are always uploading new radio shows and other treats like freestyles and what not.

I'm curious, why would you tell people NOT to buy an actual record? Sure, it's a fuckin wack bootleg, but actually having a record is 10x better then having a lame mp3 which means NOTHING!!

I can't stand bootlegs... Of my 15,000 records, I own maybe 20-25 bootlegs/represses/reissues and they stick out like a sore thumb and I can't stand having them, BUT they sre still better then having some mp3.

Nah, man. From what I heard, this was actually marketed as a legitimate
re-issue. Not only that, but I believe it's also priced as a limited release.
Not positive, but no, I wouldn't suggest someone buy that record because
they would be disappointed.
Just looking out, cause if someone didn't tell me, I might have copped it
and been mad pissed that I spent money I don't have on a record that
isn't what it says it is.
I would rather have the mp3 than that bootleg. Easier to throw on CD and
takes up less space.

im not 'hating' (what are you, 15?) but all your posts carry pretty much the same sentiment. You never seem to tire of telling us that you own alot of original pressings, arent keen on bootlegs and that MP3s "mean nothing".

I can see where its going to end up so they might aswell ban you now and save every one alot of hassle.
Its not like you're gonna post anything of any use anyway.

First of all, do I tell you how to post? What to say? What not to say? Nope! Why? Cuz I don't give a shit. Post and say whatever the fuck you wanna say and post.

And I'm not gonna post anything of any use anyways??? hahaha Sure, I'm probably not going to post up much from my vinyl collection (I believe you should go and dig for what you want yourself), BUT I will post up a lot of my old King Tech Wake Up Shows (among other things). If you checked out any of the ones I posted before, you'd know that I upload that shit correctly and the quality is superior! And I always recorded the full shows... Not just interview/freestyle sessions.

Why this is so familiar to me? Some of the guys here have to stop hating, and keep posting, watching and reading in the threads.
For sure to own record is much more than mp3 (FOR SURE!), to be honest i have only 1 bootleg and it`s fine, but yes i won`t spend more than $ 10 for it.
By the way this Akinyele it`s fuckin hard for dig. Know a guy who sold it his copy for over $ 1200 long time ago.

its only an issue because its been repeated ad infinitum by this faggot a few months ago before he got banned. he literally has nothing else to say.

we all know the vinyl/MP3/repress/bootleg/serato argument. its been done to death. this fucker will start it all off again, in every thread possible.

Another derailed thread.
Beautiful.
Shawn, you're one "vinyl rules!mp3s are for suckers!" post away from being banned once again.
And you know this.
You just can't seem to be able to help it.
I understand, it's like an obsession.
But it will not be entertained here.

Sure you have your right to opinion, absolutely.
But you don't have a right to come in here putting people down
and forcing your elitist beliefs on everyone else.

All you have to do is stop with mp3/vinyl mentionings in every post,
and you can stay and we can all build.
But something tells me you won't do this.

Hey, just in case you guys missed it. DJ Wicked has over 15,000 pieces of vinyl and has been into hip-hip since 1984 and loves diggin' and has SO many original vinyl rarities and spins only original vinyl and hates how people can so easily donwload mp3s without having to dig. The dude it 100%, uber-legit, premium real hip-hop elite.

Oh wait. What was this thread about again?

Ok, I understand a little better now. So wow, it's being priced as a limited release??? Meaning what, $30 or more??? Man FUCK THAT!! I still wouldn't say to not buy it. To each his own. But as far as your comment regarding space and shit, doesn't Biz Markie have a second house for ALL his vinyl??? Dude bought a second fuckin HOUSE just to store his viny, wow!! Why? I'd assume because he loves vinyl so he did what he had to do. When you love something, in this case vinyl, you make it work. Space has ALWAYS been an issue for me, but again, I make it work and I'm going to have to always make it work because I will always buy vinyl. Word life!

And, by the way, someone is selling that exact tape you have for 250
