Scientifik was dope, no doubt. RIP.
Thanks for the CD links.
I copped the "Criminal" album the day it came out on cassette. Wish I still
had that shit. It's almost, if not definitely, a classic, in my book.

The first album, people are unsure if it actually did ever drop at all back
then. But I believe it did, I saw a white label for it, with the tracks written
in red pen, in maybe 2002 at A1 Records for $25 in not very good
condition. I didn't realize just how rare it was or I would've copped it.

I've been trying to get my hands on this single of his that dropped in 96,
after both albums, maybe his last release:
http://www.discogs.com/Scientifik-Lawto ... se/1294095
This was a UK only pressing and I can't find a US seller with it, so I
haven't copped it yet. The record is worth having just for this mix, imo,
the rest is a bit disappointing:
<object width="480" height="295"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/faRCI-kTr4w&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/faRCI-kTr4w&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="295"></embed></object>
Hahaaaa!! He kills that shit. It definitely shows that he was perfecting that
style and ready to drop a real classic, imo.
Anyone got a copy of this that they'll part with for a fair price, let me know.

And I've heard that he had a bunch of stuff from right before he passed
that never dropped. Maybe an album's worth?
Anybody know about any of that?

Yeah, man, there's a few samples on there that were used later on.
thanks for keeping an eye out for that single. I'll let you know if I catch any,
too.

Apparently all the tracks on that Most Blunted album were originally recorded over original Vinyl Reanimators beats and then remixed over beats that were similar to tracks that were popular at the time (Memory Lane etc)... I remember some cat connected to VR saying this a while ago anyway, I don't know if any of the original mixes ever surfaced.

I think the earliest release of the Most Blunted is the one on Don Corleone Entertainment, which came out in 98 or 99, or at least that's when I first saw it.. I have that Lawtown 12" and can rip any of the songs you need from it in high quality if you need. His verse on Big Shug's "Official" was his best IMO.

The originals are definitely ones for Traffic to get hold of, I love both albums though regardless, completely agree with his appearance on Big Shug's "Official"...did Scientifik really take his life over a girl?

Iג€™ve got a good friend who personally knows the Vinyl Reanimators. I had him ask them if there really is a whole other version of ג€œMost Bluntedג€ stashed away?

The response was ג€œYESג€ and that there are several different versions of each track all recorded between 89 and 92. Also, they were the first to use the ג€œMemory Laneג€ sample back then but didnג€™t release it at the time.

I should be getting some tax money in february and I found a seller with
that white label import, and with the Scientifik Lawtown 96 vinyls.
It's gonna probably cost me more than I would like, but I'll cop them both
and rip them at 320. Hopefully this happens and within the next month.
