^^Dooope. I'm no new rap jive fan boy, but I can't get enough of those Jay
Elec Exhibits. I haven't been excited about a debut rap album since the 90's.

Anyways, here's one I caught the other day:

Yo, that IMP sample (and the others) is a wes mongomery track.

The drums, dark keys, + bass are all part of the OG break. Its slowed down quite a bit. Its a beast of a sample.

Cant remember the record its off of. Its a white boardered cover (most of the wes mongomery albums are) with a city scene. Its the last cut on side A i believe.

Wish i could be more helpful. Sorry if someone beat me...reading through this quickly.

Ahh, you probably talking about the "Day In The Life" album, maybe.
The sample for Y@kballz Flossin is on there and a few others, I think.
There's another one that looks just like it that I believe has the sample for
Pharoah Monch's "The Truth" or "The Light".
I'll find it, thanks.

And I guess the only way I was in the neighborhood with the Quincy guess
is that they both had records on the same A&M label.

Hey im thinking of doing a small sample sources comp on Jaylib - Champion Sound....

has anyone done it yet?
i dont have many and would love some help...starting with the cleared samples.....

ok took a few hours but i got every sample that was cleared on Champion Sound....

collected them all and zipped it....uploading now

now comes the real test....all the uncleared samples....ill be bumpin it all day today and see what i can spot....

are people interested in this btw? or am i just a nut

I wasn't getting email post update notificatins for this thread, so I didn't
notice you were posting.

People have done Dilla sample compilations, but I'm not sure about for this
album. You might wanna check out these two sites, who are always doing full

The MC Evaready & Unanimous Decision track is one of countless dope UK instrumentals from the early 90s that I've come across while searching for James Brown samples.

The DJ PNS instrumental is the lead-off track from his "Showcase Production Music" LP.

I'm gonna start a thread pretty soon. At the moment, Jimmy Smithson at Bust The Facts is posting a shitload of UK singles in chronological order, so I'm gonna wait until he finishes so that I can grab any missing links. More than half of the instrumentals that I have come from another Bust The Facts member - DJ Moyinka. I've been requesting a lot of shit over there, and he always comes through.
