Nas - The Making Of Illmatic Documentary (VHS to mp4 rip)

I got a request for this from another member in the Mic Geronimo thread, so here it is. A nice look at Queensbridge projects if you've never been there.

You can import the mp4 file into iTunes and convert it for your iPod or iPhone if you like. I try to keep a bunch of classics to travel around and watch regularly.

Thanks for this, I've seen most of it before but would like to have it for future viewing. Thanks for uploading it.
Kool Keith: I wore a straw hat with a feather to the last Source Awards. When I got to Madison Square Garden everybody was looking at me. When I got back home I seen everybody and their mother in their video wearing a fuckinג€™ straw hat with a feather in it.

Tim Dog: ג€œWhat Kool Keith gonna wear? Iג€™m gonna do that shit in my video. Iג€™m gonna wear that shit really quick. Whatג€™s Tim Dog gonna wear?ג€

Wow, thanks man! This is awesome, I don't think I've ever seen this either. Would you mind if we post this on TROY and link to your site? Feel free to say no, but this looks tight.

Of course your bork ass clowns never saw this. It aired on Video Music Box back in the day. That's Ralph McDaniels on the narration.

I'm glad y'all like the documentary, I remember being glad to see it in the midst of hearing Nas songs slowly leak from Illmatic on WKCR before the album dropped.

Yes it's fine if you post it on TROY, I appreciate the work of Phila Flava fully and am happy to even get mentioned on the blog.

I'd like to see any documentaries too from Phila Flava, I've been going through the videos section gradually since I joined the forum and have found some good things. I posted a link to a documentary for Mic Geronimo's The Natural in a thread about a week ago here.

Good times. I watched Video Music Box religiously for years but I still don't remember this. Gonna try to peep it tonight. The download is working fine for everyone else? It stops at 0.8 MB for me. I tried yesterday and again now. I'll try it again later.
Thanks again.

I remember the first time Bob played Life's a Bitch. Pretty sure it was Feb 94. He said "The first kid on this next songs named AZ. You guess the second."

I played the shit out of that tape because at the time that was the only Illmatic joint I had besides Halftime and It Aint Hard To Tell.

Damn man, time flys. Seems like yesterday.

CNN has an EPK. Peep Youtube.

Pete Rock has an EPK for NY's Finest. Peep Youtube.

I'm sure there's others as well.

This particular one was dope and really gives a genuine slice of the '90s scene. Good shit.

Peace.

Okay brandon, I've put this off for a while but I'm going to blog this pretty soon. Do you want to upload this on Youtube, or can I, or do you not want this on youtube at all? If you don't want it up on youtube that's fine, it's up to you. I just thought it might be nice if people could watch this on the site. Either way you get your much-deserved props, and again, thanks for the rip!
