First up, many thanks to everyone who's posted here over the years - I've got some incredible stuff from this site!

I've got a couple of requests, just wondering if any of the UK heads here might be able to help out?

1) DJ Riz on Westwood - Oct 1996. Riz came over to promote his Shoot Tha Pump compilation album, and did two nights on the Westwood show. Step One has posted 90 minutes from the Friday night session on his blog, but the whole night was 5 hours long, so I'm wondering if anyone has the rest of the show? I had a recording of this - but the tapes have long been lost. Does anyone have the whole thing, please?

2) DJ Riz on Westwood 1997 - mix. I recently came across an old Westwood tape where he plays a couple of mixes - Cash Money first, and then says he's going to play a Riz mix. I assumed it was going to be the "usual" 94 mix, but the mix kicks off with Main Source's "Think". and then my tape runs out. Does anyone have any ideas, please?

3) Doo Wop on Westwood - early 1995. This was the absolute bible to me and my mates for a few months; we absolutely hammered it! Starts off with Das EFX "Mic Checka" instrumental, then has "Unbelievable", "Most Beautifullest Thing In This World", "Puerto Rico", some James Brown, then goes old school with "Overweight Lover In The House" - Heavy D, "I Know You Got Soul", etc. Is absolutely brilliant. Again I had the tape but it got lost... a friend of mine managed to find his tape of it but again it's missing half the mix, and is wrong speed etc. I can upload the version of it I've got if anyone wants to hear!

Thanks in advance if anyone can help out with any of these?

I can upload some stuff in return if people want - the Cash Money mix I mentioned, some DJ Eclipse mixes - a really great "best of the 90s" selection he did -, some Scratch Perverts on Westwood...

Cheers
M

here's the Riz from Oct 96. Love this tape. Was one of the first things I posted when I set up my blog

http://djstepone.blogspot.co.uk/2009/03 ... -1996.html

(EDIT -didnt read your post properly!)

I've got that Doo Wop tape but its pretty bad quality. Tried ripping it once but even with a lot of EQing it seemed pointless.

Westwood is hammering Life After Death, so I'm guessing it's early 1997?

Has Marvelous on the mic, lot of old school stuff - Peter Piper, Pump It Up, Nobody Beats The Biz etc

ok, no problem, here it is:

http://wtrns.fr/8KskJDQT1hqiluv

I must admit I had to cope with the tape snapping (and joining it back together with sellotape), the end of one side and the start of the next, and something inexplicably being recorded over the middle of the mix (only for about two minutes) - so there are a few "jumps".

But it's pretty good overall!

I get a "file expired" message when clicking on your link, so unlike Craig I can't download. Can you re-up to a different hosting service when you have the chance?

DJ Skully - Juggle Me (Mixtape 2000)

Image

Really dope indie mixtape from 2000, tight mixing and cuttin. Despite the name, beat juggling is kept to a minimum so easy listening.

One of my all time fav tapes. This tape put me on J-Zone and lost of other stuff... He's won the world DMC title as well.

@step one, think this one will be up your street with quality homegrown talent

nice one man, I remember seeing this tape about but never heard it. Skully is/was a sick DJ. I heard he had to give up because of problems with his hearing problems. At the time he had a pretty big radio show and was playing out regularly. Guess he had to go back to the day job.
