A History of the Golden State Warriors/Project (Xzibit, Ras)

Post by battlecatmeowstab212 »

For the LA Weekly today, I tried to put together the comprehensive story of what sidetracked the promised and oft-delayed Golden State Project album from Xzibit, Saafir and Ras Kass. They've done so many separate interviews with different details on the subject, I decided to trace every article/interview on them I could find and assemble the closest record I could of it -
http://blogs.laweekly.com/westcoastsoun ... saafir.php

Since there's been a lot of love for "Plastic Surgery" and Ras/Saafir/Xzibit's work around that time here, I thought I'd share it.
Check out my FREE album featuring MAC LETHAL, ALASKA from HANGAR 18, HOMEBOY SANDMAN and J57 of the BROWN BAG ALL STARS -

Saafir is actually in a wheelchair... I saw Golden State perform with Xzibit at RTB in Socal this passed August. Shock G. was with the group on stage, pushing Saafir around as he sat in a whelchair, performing his verse to 3 Car Molly... I was kinda suprised there wasnt more in the media about it... I remember reading somewhere, Saafir talking about having a spinal tumor or something.

Particularly given all the outlets competing over scooping each other on Saafir news.

Yeah, he's been fighting spinal cancer for a few years now. In, and apparently out of, remission. :(
