90's Canadian Hip Hop Mixtape Vol.2
IMLT Radio x DJ Filthy Rich Present: 90's Canadian Hip Hop Vol.2
Just in time for Canada Day, In My Lifetime (IMLT) Hip Hop Art Gallery presents the 2nd volume in DJ Filthy Rich's "90's Canadian Hip Hop" mixtape series.
While Vol.1 featured some of the well-known tracks, Vol.2 contains more of the rarer and underground cuts. There's still plenty of tracks that I want to include in future volumes, so expect another edition next Canada Day (July 1st).
Feedback is always welcome...

Yeah no prob...I'm just keeping the Mixcloud link as the sole way to stream it for the 1st week (Mixcloud charts for the first week of release.....currently sitting at #18 as I write this. Trying to build up a following there). DL link will be posted in a week's timejamo609 wrote:DOPE!!! Any chance of a DL link please mate?

Canada is like a bigger New Jersey. They had lots of nice hip hop releases by less heralded artists that never got much love from the rest of the US.

Re: 90's Canadian Hip Hop Mixtape Vol.2
Yeah definitely. Canada got drowned out by all of the 'big' stuff coming out of the U.S. at the time....our artists mainly only found shine in the U.S. on underground/college radio. Stretch and Bobbito showed a lotta love especially.HipHopInfinityRIPLOL wrote:Canada is like a bigger New Jersey. IMO I think it was also partly due to the stigma of it being rap from outside of the states.

Their late 90s/early 2000s scene is prolific, as well. Will give this a listen todaydjfilthyrich wrote:Yeah definitely. Yo Rich for that 3rd volume I think you should consider using some accapellas & come up with some iLLeR Cancon collabo`s. More Maestro & Saukrates collabo`s would be a good thing, more Kardinal & Choclair wouldn`t be too shabby either. Just a thought I had while burnin` a blunt & bumpin` that Volume 2 mix

definitely...I started the series with early and mid-90's selections, and will eventually work my way up to the late 90s and early 2000s eraHipHopInfinityRIPLOL wrote:Their late 90s/early 2000s scene is prolific, as well. Re: 90's Canadian Hip Hop Mixtape Vol.2
I'm always thinking of some blend collabos, so you'll def find some on the next one. I had a Dream Warriors/Nas collabo that I wanted to include on this volume, but it wasnt flowing with the other tracks....will likely end up putting it on vol.3HeRBaN LyRiX wrote:Yo Rich for that 3rd volume I think you should consider using some accapellas & come up with some iLLeR Cancon collabo`s.
