NINE - 80s & early 90s releases

Post by K-Funk »

For a while , i could consider my self one of the biggest fan's of NINE but after diggin' for more info about his first early 90s releases i was shocked. He was in one group and he released some stuff with them in the 80s.I will put here the releases i found with the group and i would kindly ask you guys if you can help me with any of these tracks.NINE means a lot for me considering the fact he was the first one i heard from outside back in the days and started to listening this music so i would love to hear his early stuff.Any help is mad appreciated!

His group was first called RICOCHET & CENTIPEDE along with Tito Navedo (!?who's this guy?!) and they had one release :

RICOCHET & CENTIPEDE - CHARLIE BROWN - 12" (1985) DANYA RECORDS

Tracklisting:
A1 Charlie Brown (5:57)
A2 Bogus Beats (4:35)
B Charlie Brown (Instrumental) (5:45)

...and it seems the og vinyl it's an holy grail...it's $ 795.00 on discogs.

Then in '86 it seems that Funkmaster Flex joined the group and they changed the name into DEUCES WILD and they released the following 12"s :

Deuces Wild - Hard Is Hard - 12" - (1986) - Turngold Records

Tracklisting:
A Hard Is Hard (Vocal) (3:09)
B1 Hard Is Hard (Instrumental)
B2 Hard Is Hard (Vocal Dub)

Deuces Wild - He Writes His, I Write Mine - 12" - (1986) - Turngold Records

Tracklisting:
A1 He Writes His, I Write Mine (4:05)
A2 He Writes His, I Write Mine (Inst.) (4:05)
B1 Kangol (4:27)
B2 Kangol (Inst.) (4:27)

Deuces Wild - Five Times The Rhymer / Deuces Is Def - 12" - (1988) - City Beats Records

Tracklisting:
A1 Five Times The Rhymer (Vocal Mix) (3:50)
A2 Five Times The Rhymer (Dope Instrumental) (3:50)
B1 Deuces Is Def (Vocal Mix) (4:08)
B2 Deuces Is Def (Dope Instrumental) (4:08)
B3 Deuces Is Def (Accappella) (1:35)

and i'm also lookin' for his first release with Funkmaster Flex , i only heard one track from that 12" :

Funkmaster Flex & Nine Double M - F.A.L.L.I.N. (And You Can't Get Up) - 12" - (1991) - Warlock Records)

Tracklisting:
A1 F.A.L.L.I.N. (And You Can't Get Up) (Vocal) (4:29)
A2 F.A.L.L.I.N. (And You Can't Get Up) (Instrumental) (4:29)
A3 F.A.L.L.I.N. (And You Can't Get Up) (Acappella) (3:34)
B1 Bodies Of The Nine (4:41)
B2 Bodies Of The Nine (Instrumental) (4:41)
B3 Talk About The Green (4:39)
B4 Green Bonus Beats (1:43)

+

Masters Of Funk, The - Go Bang (Can't / Won't / Don't Stop) - 12" - (1992) - Freeze Records

Tracklisting:
A1 Go Bang (Can't / Won't / Don't Stop) (Flex Mix) (4:56)
A2 Go Bang (Can't / Won't / Don't Stop) (Tee's Nine Mix) (4:45)
B1 Go Bang (Can't / Won't / Don't Stop) (Tee's Loop Mix) (4:26)
B2 Go Bang (Can't / Won't / Don't Stop) (Radio Edit) (4:05)

Nine is featured on that ^.

Well , that's it .Once again i kindly ask for any help and i hope you can come up with something!Peace TROY.

I'm very interested in hearing some of this.

Great post and though I'm new here, I can already tell that Manson has the collection that most people would want to raid.

Sort of related, I've been trying to track down a song that supposedly has a Tucka Da Huntaman feature on it. Was released in '94 on Profile.

Bodyrock - Groove With You Tonight (Crush Sounds Flippy Remix)

Does anyone have this?

Here's most of it... I wasnt gonna post it until I had everything in there, but have been having a hard time finding my Master of Funk 12" to rip... (I think I may have ebayed it years ago :\ but I just ordered another one so when it shows up Ill rip that) ... and also a couple other ones I havent got around to... but here's the partial list anyway

Ricochet & Centipede "Charlie Brown" - 1985

Ricochet & Centipede "Bogus Beats" - 1985

Deuces Wild (Nine & Funkmaster Flex) "Hard is Hard" -1986

http://www.zshare.net/audio/19703826db4c75c0/
http://www.zshare.net/audio/1970427258624f17/ (inst)

You can hear them still using their aliases at the time Richochet & Centipede on this track...

Deuces Wild "Five Times The Rhymer" -1988

Deuces Wild "Deuces is Def" - 1988
http://www.zshare.net/audio/19674181fdb3a106/

Deuces Is Def rocks that same section of Bob James "Nautilous" sample that Pete Rock was looping for the huge posse performance on the last Arsenio Hall show... (it's been used on other stuff but that was the most notable to me)

Deuces Wild - "Chuck Chillout On The Mix" - Kiss FM promo - 1988

I never thought I would see any of these tracks besides Five Times A Rhymer. These zShare files are not working at all. I never had a problem their links in the past. I tried almost a week straight on Internet Explorer, FireFox and other browsers and no luck.

This message came up today:
The file you were looking for could not be found, sorry for any inconvenience.

Can anyone help? Thanx.

I would like to echo the request to up these files using a service other than Zshare.

Maaaaan, nothing that pisses me more than people asking for re-ups and no one will help them out if they already have the tracks. It's freaking easy to do, someone did it for you, so if you can help, by all means help. Its an easy way to contribute back if you don't already contribute....

Here is a zip of.....

Deuces Wild - Hard is Hard
Deuces WIld - Hard is Hard Inst
Deuces Wild - Chuck Chillout On The Mix
Deuces Wild - Deuces Is Def
Deuces Wild - Five Times The Rhymer
Ricochet & Centipede - Bogus Beats
Ricochet & Centipede - Charlie Brown
