Touring The States: Boston, MA

Post by Markshot »

The T.R.O.Y. Blog would like to present you "Touring The States" post. We will sit in our Camaro and take a ride around the States in search of albums that you might never heard of. We will pick up the albums or singles, which doesn't have that so called title "classic", but for sure having great songs, vibe and it will be perfect joy for your ears. Stay tunned, we will feed you with this two times per month, maybe more.

Paw-Dukes was born in Miami Fla. and raised in Brooklyn, New York and now reside in Massachusetts. He started dipping in music at the tender age of 14. He credits lifeג€™s experiences as his most influential backdrop. Introduced to the art of rhyming by a family friend, Paw-Dukes formed a group with his younger brother Carolina Gus (then know as Finch) and performed at various venues and colleges.

Touring The States: Minnesota

Post by Markshot »

Midwest is a region forgotten by many, but our tour drove us here, in Minnesota. The year was 1996 when Twice Mike & Koko had been released their first album "Actin' A Fool" on Get Somewhere Productions. Twice Mike has produced the whole album. I can say that this is the only info i have about them. Little bit more info you can find in the booklet which is inside of the download file. We can't say that this album can wear a title as a classic, but it is quiet enjoyable, easy edible with mostly pleasant beats for your ears but it also includes some heavy but listenable beats.

Big Meech, as y'all already realized, is coming out of Riverside. This should be the one and only piece of music released by Big Meech, but don't take this info for granted. I was searching all over the internet and wasn't able to find any additional info. Discogs says that this single is Big Meech from Miami, a member of BMF, but personally I think this is mistake. So, please, feel free to correct me if you know something more about all of that. You will enjoy this short but excellent single, even if you don't like that Cali, g-funk vibe. The songs are very very smooth and relaxing. Like the title says "We're Just Cruzin'"; for sure this will make you want to burn it for the ride. Enjoy.

Pretty much whole album is savory. Almost all of beats are smooth and pretty much listenable with one or two hard cuts. Obviously it would not be useful to compare the album to the styles of Common Sense, All Natural, No I.D. etc. because this is real g-shit, so you'll have to assess it in its own context on your own. So, download it, listen to it from the first to the last second, give it a rating as you see fit, but one thing is certain: this album won't sound downright wack to anyone. Let us know what you think after a solid listen.

I didn't take a full listen but I will later :(

D.A. Smart was featured in this classic posse cut "Where Ya At" from the One Million Strong COMP(1995). The cut features Ice Cube, Ice-T, Kam, Mobb Deep, Da Smart, Insane, Shorty, Smooth B, Chuck D, Rza, Killah Priest. They also have a video of it which you can here find on youtube.

This 18 minute long EP might look short but will surely give you a picture of the scene that was in Kansas at that time. Even "Outro" is interesting, cause they were giving shotouts to some big names such as Ice-T, Krs-One, Schooly D etc.

Thanks.
