Project Blowed For Dummies Mixes - DON'T SLEEP!

Post by Echo Leader »

This could just as easily go in the Blowed thread, but I didn't want it to get lost in the shuffle:

These mixtapes are essential primers to the Project Blowed / Good Life / Afterlife / Curbserver MCs. The first was put together by Afterlife OG Busdriver and is more of a retrospective compilation from '91-'92 to 2000. Since thier collective catalog is hella deep and they are definitely not traditional rappers in any way, listening to the Blowed can be a bit overwhelming. This mix is very well put together and a great starting point if you're a first timer.

The second mix was released for free by DJ Handprints in 2006. This one is a bit more inclusive and spans material from the old-school Blowedians like CVE and Hip Hop KClan to newer cats like Nocando and Open Mike Eagle. Also a very very good mix.

To reiterate, definitely a great jump-off for the uneducated. Enjoy!

Three quarters of the way through and very impressed. Question: who's rapping at the end of Strength Of ATU? He's not on the 1995 PB version that I have. Or is that from the song that follows?
