I have that "you Can't Use My Pen" joint on vinyl but wonder if the demo is different and never heard of the other joints.

Try sending that by Wajeed on Twitter, I'm sure he'd be happy to see it and give a response. He's been doing a good job at carrying on Dilla's legacy with the excavation of early gems.

was Dilla a member of Da Enna C??
i don't know anything about that group but i do know that that song "NOW" was probably the first (or at the latest, the second) released Dilla production. i think Jay Dee was definitely better than many give him credit for on the mic; he was far from a Nas or anything, but he had mic presence and dropped a lot of funny lines. when listening to "Champion Sound" i think JD is waay better than Madlib as far as rhyming goes.

I decided to have a preview of the new 7'' by AG, Sadat & J Dilla the other day (quickly archived into my recycle bin). Anyway, i downloaded a well-known group's rip which was tagged as Trinity_(A.G._Sadat_X_and_Some_Other_Fag)_Sunshine_2012 which was pretty amusing, but, i'm thinking am i missing something here or it's just that they dislike the guy?

I believe Trinity = AG, Sadat X, and DJ Jab, though i could be wrong. So i guess with them probably not knowing who he is, they just opted to call him some fag. dude was the og owner of Fat Beats and still is i believe. Pretty epic movemaker for indie hip hop, imo.

Ah, now it all makes sense. I apologize for not doing my homework before dropping my post here, i didn't even take a look at the cover. My guess is they're well aware of who DJ Jab is and that's why they have issues with him. Running that kind of business always projects 2 faces, right?

You're right for asking this. Dilla wasn't a member of DAENNAC. The group was P-Gruv (ghost produced for Davina-"So Good"), 3E and DJ Dez (Slum Village's former DJ--now produces as Dez, Andres and other pseudonyms). All 3 rapped but Dez and P made the beats. Dilla did "Now" and "True to Rap" but I highly doubt that he did anything on the demo.

Dez has a Livestream show Mondays at 10PM ET. I'll ask him about it or send him a tweet. He goes by DJDEZANDRES.

Thanks again Nobs...doesn't it feel good to get actual thanks and true props and appreciation from true heads and not a bunch of elitist dicks that are anti-MP3 because they are too scared to keep up with the times?

We need more like you.

Really not that good, "You Can't C My Pen" is laughable.

Not every obscure release is worth listening to.
No more Sasso. Now everybody call me Ron!
