Beastie Boys "Licensed To Ill" 30th Anniversary 11/15

The Beasties re-issued moat of their albums a few years ago as deluxe versions. But not this one. I just assume because it was on Def Jam. Anyways, for the last couple months I'd been working on and off on a deluxe version for myself and my friend DMC (no, not that one).

Seems like a good time to put it out there for everyone to enjoy. Tracks 1-13 are from a Japanese remastered version, the rest are from all kinds of sources.

Stellar, thanks for this!

I actually wrote a piece for the hip-hop station I'm a DJ at today about the songs/verses that were cut from the final release:

http://www.gomn.com/news/beastie-boys-l ... idnt-hear/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also, thanks for not including "Home" on this. It's from such a different place/time for the Beasties that I'm always irked when it's lumped in with LTI-era collections.

I also randomly remember about a decade ago the person who leaked "Desperado" said that they had a version of "It's the New Style" with Adroc shit-talking over the outro as it fades, but because of how "Desperado" spread against his wishes, he said he'd never put it out. Any idea if it ever surfaced?

While we're on the subject, might be a fun project to retool "Desperado" to try to recreated the version from 'Tougher Than Leather' with Clint Eastwood saying "Desperado" at those silent moments before the hook with the "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" sample.

I'm not any sort of audio engineer, but I did a bunch of work on my own for this version of Desperado. Let me know what you think.

And you're right, "Home" has no place on this compilation and should never be mentioned at the same time.

Yes, but it's "Posse In Effect", not "The New Style":

Yo dirt, today I had Thanksgiving with my family and my 9 year old cousin's favorite song is "Brass Monkey." He heard it for the first time somewhere earlier this week and his mom told me he's been playing it all the time. He hadn't heard any other Beasties or rap songs, but something about "Brass Monkey" connected with him. Thanks to your excellent comp, I was able to burn L.T.I. on CD for his Mom's car for him right there. It's his first rap album. Thanks for that.

Also, once my other cousins saw I burned him LTI, they all wanted a copy of it as well, so I hooked them up. You really added to Turkey Day this year.
