I have a feeling you didn't really deserve to come across this windfall... I mean are you entirely oblivious to all these records? In any event, do yourself a favor and please LISTEN to these tapes. Also, keep in mind that the non-rap portion of your new collection has some incredible, timeless music in it.

What makes you think he isn't going to listen to them? He was obviously interested enough to go out and grab the tapes and then come on here and ask about them too.

Who's "deserving" of finding new (to them) music anyway?

Dog, I'm cynical as fuck, I remember hearing Ultramagnetic MC's Red Alert promo and Angie Martinez's debut single as if both events occurred on the same day, dig?

i live in san francisco. there's a shitload of tape inserts in the bucket that dont have tapes with them also. about 70-80% of the tapes listed dont have cases or inserts. yea i'm gonna listen to them. they're all i listen to at home now. i'm thinking about adding a tape deck in my car under my cd player just because of this. there's also a lot of crazy dubs with some dudes "freestyling" (really just talking, yelling, laughing over beats with an occasional rhyme) and girls making fake radio shows.

That's crazy. Give us reports on the tapes you listen to. I'm especially interested in the Bill Withers one.

That's how I first started rapping. lol, my cousin, sister and I making up "fake radio show" tapes with us as the guests. Bustin over instrumentals on tapes (back in the day, there used to be on a lot of tapes just one "instrumental" song, usually the DJ cut...the memories..)
