Agallah appreciation...

8-off gets slept on entirly too much.

First of all, that unreleased album Wrap Your Lips Around This is dope. Great production which still stands up to the newwer shit.

His production on the PMD albums = TIMELESS! Those are some of my favorite beats by anyone in any time period. Very dark, very moody, and one of the first to sample Sacrface voice clips.

Now, does anyone here have the song "American Pimp" by Agallah? That piano is ineffeibly infectious.

Now, lets talk about Agallah's lyrics. Some cats sleep, but I like them.

"Come to the battle with no strings in your shoes and I'll still lace you."

"Like a wild cab driver, you don't know where the FUCK I'm taking you."

And who can forget "The Crookie Monster" and the other two songs on that 12' (which was put out by Game Recordings)? Great concept, and even better production on the other two joints "5 Star Millas" and "I Know All Ya'll."

Then there is his DBD material... can't forget his work with DJ Honda either...

I heard Agallah is Dip Set now, is this true? If so, someone please upload some of the new shit.

Agallah = Appreciated

He is in the Dipset extended family
i think he has a mixtape out featurin' all the second tier Dipset cats like Un Kasa and J.R Writer
"crookie monster" is definately my favorite track my him
some others i liked were "to whom it may concern" and "whatz yourz iz mine"

Some of his Stretch & Bob freestyles too
the one where he's rappin' about his rhymes being funky like his socks.

Then there was his production on that R.A The Rugged Man 12" on Rawkus
and a few cuts on the 2nd Group Home album like "make it in life".

Definately appreciated.

Crookie Monster is the track where he rhymes like Cookie Monster from Sesame Street? Hmmm, admittedly not heard that track for years but I remember it being... fucking weird.

He's on that new Scaramanga CD i noticed.

Fuck, I forgot his contributions to the 2nd Group Home joint. I loved that album for Agallah's contribution alone.

Ag and the rest of Purple City recently inked a deal with Babygrande although I really don't see that working out.

I don't think a lot of people notice that Ag did Saigon's Contraband (A,B,C,D). That Rising To the Top 12" he did with Sean Price the other year was nice too.

Came out last summer. It hit me a little harder in the height of the Dipset/ PCP/ Senate madness, but I can still say this is one of my favorite tapes of the past few years. The mp3's are mislabled as saying "Gangster" for the album title, but everything else should be fine. Its a good representation of his recent work and a must-have for any fan of Agallah.

Arguably Saigon's best work, but that's another thread. People assumed that this was an Alchemist because he did the A-side, Say Yes.

could anyone post up those two albums from earlier? I haven't heard very much from him, but I've liked what I've heard. Thanks.
