I have a router and my soulseek is messing up

It has been. It's because the router isnt properly ported or whatever but I don't know how to do that.

Help please.

If you're using the latest version of Soulseek (155), the default port for forwarding is 6183.

So if you're using that version, you need to forward port 6183 to your PC.

Um, I don't know what to tell you because I don't know what Router Brand / Model you are using. I did a search on Google with the terms "forward port soulseek" (without quotes) and the first link actually brought me to this website: http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm

Check it out...

You have given me no information here. I guess you put in your Router's IP address and got to the port forwarding section. And now you have to put in an application name and the ports to use? If I'm right, here is what you do: The application name doesn't matter. Call it Soulseek for your own personal reference, just so you know if you ever have to go back to that page and ask yourself "What program did I want this port forwarded for?" And then you need to choose a range of ports to forward...the start and end number can both be the same (6183).

How do I choose a range of ports? Can I just put any number?

Or is there a list of port ranges somewhere?

I greatly appreciate your help.

If are you looking at the port forwarding section of your router console...and it wants you to list the range, just do 6183~6183

Hey man, what kind of router do you have, I'll try to look up the interface for it so I can help you a bit better.
