heh, I got the RROD a couple weeks ago too, but I was surprised at how fast it got sent back to me. Much faster than the last time I had to send it in

but yeah, Fallout 3 easily. I'm about 55-60 hours in, best game of the year, hands down. I just hope the ending isn't as big of a letdown as everyone's making it out to be. I'm bracing myself.

I suppose someone could milk it for 100 hours if they really wanted to explore the entire map and do all the sidequests, but most people won't. You can blow through the main quest fairly quickly (8 hours or so), but I recommend taking your time with it. I'll probably end up with around 50 hours.

Fallout 3 makes all other games seem ridiculously simple and one dimensional.

However; my ending was very disappointing and anti-climatic but that could be because I was some super nice paladin nerd.

I know this isn't supposed to be a first person shooter, but I really dislike the combat system. The real-time combat is terrible, and VATS is pretty boring IMO. And the close-up gore shots when you kill enemies get boring after the 100th time.

I just threw my copy on Ebay if anyone is interested (PS3).

I ran into a Gamestop giftcard and picked this up thinking I would give it a shot...this is not my type of game.

I think I'm gonna go for Prince of Persia or Resistance 2 instead.

Resistance 2 is a must, i fuckin love that game, wait till you play the co-op games, they are a blast, and the multiplayer is kind of like cod4

before i got the RROD, i put a good 60 hours into this game. the quest isnt as lengthy as Oblivion but it still holds its own. has high replay value.

I just hit a bug, I'm doing the Waters of Life main quest and when the Enclave shows up and you have to get to the control center the shit freezes on the loading screen between the basement and the museum. Tried a few different times to make it throught but it locks up at the same spot every time, anyone experience this? I refuse to give up on the 30+ hours I've already put into this.

It's an open-world, first-person role-playing game set in a post-apocalyptic Washington DC.

^Yes, Oblivion and GTA are both "open world" games.

Fallout 3 is made by Bethesda, the same people that made Oblivion. The games are very similar in a lot of ways. Fallout 3 is a bit smaller in scope, but it has a tighter and more interesting story.
