Fight stick

Post by Russian »

I am thinking about a fight stick. I don't care if its non-custom.

What is the best non-custom fight stick that i can play sf4 and mvc3 with?

can i use this one with SF4?

Fight sticks vary. You have money so you just get a custom one made.

I am currently having one made and it's turning out excellent.

But, Hori and Mad Catz. I prefer an 8 button layout over the 6

Yeah, you should be able to. Just looks like the higher-model SF4 stick with a different sticker/color scheme. I have the SF4 version and it works great on MVC3.

Keep in mind that they use Japanese components though - quality shit for sure, but they have a lighter touch than most US arcade cabinets.

The best non-custom sticks are any of the Tournament Edition sticks. They use Sanwa Denshi joysticks and buttons which are used in arcade machines. Most people who mod a stick, mod it to put in Sanwa Denshi parts.

The high end Hori sticks are alright, but the cheaper ones have the buttons soldered direct to a PCB which means they can break if you tend to hammer them. I have a pair of EX2s for fighting games, just cos I wanted 2 for local multiplayer, but I don't play fighting games a lot and didn't want to spend much cash, but I wouldn't recommend them to any serious fighting game player.

It also depends whether you prefer a square or octagonal gate.
