Hi, I'm Brendan. I'm retarded.
Last night I finished the 2nd book, and went right on to the "third"
The "third" ended up being the 4th, which I didn't realize until I was 12% through it. So figure 80-90 pages worth.
The whole time I'm thinking to myself, "Wow, he really skipped ahead here, I didn't realize this happened or that this person is still alive/had died. Who the fuck are these people? Whatever, I'm sure it will all make sense soon. What happened to so-and-so?"
Finally I check amazon and I am indeed reading the 4th book. I'm now plowing through a 1200 pager that I essentially ruined for myself already. Fuck a Kindle.

Like a lot of people in this thread, I have read through the whole series since the show started.eternalreflection wrote:oh man that's brutal, the major events from book 3 are so greatwheels wrote:Hi, I'm Brendan. I'm retarded.

Without any spoilers, I hope to god the show can last long enough to make its way through the third book.

i figured that he'd be around for at least a couple seasons being that he was the focus of all of HBO's advertising. Pumped for the finale though, hopefully we get some actual battle scenes as opposed to just seeing the after-effects.
man I dont even know what to say after that episode
alls I know is that we are witnessing some fucking incredible television
AVClub review of the previous episode summed up my feelings on Joffrey pretty well....: "God, I will watch this show even if it goes on for a hundred seasons just if they promise me gruesome violence against that little kid."
I wished it was Ned who would end up killing Joffrey, but as long as it's a Stark, preferably Arya, I'll be happy

Fuck. I had a wierd feeling Ned was going to die for a while now, ever since someone said in this thread not to get attached to any of the characters and Bean is too big of a name to lock himself into what could end up being a 4-5 year commitment.
Great episode.
Cool to see both of Ned's son's (his eldest and his bastard) becoming men right around the same time he died.
How many episodes left? Just one?

I like that they use images from the TV show on the box set cover.Random Sample wrote:if anyone wants to buy the books, they are selling the box set on amazon for $20.

I don't like it, but I understand why they do it. They just repackaged the old ones for the people who got into the series because of the show. So they throw the familiar images on them to get people to buy them. Plus some people might not know they were books in the first place. and they might walk past them, and be like oh that's that show on HBO. I had no idea they were books until this thread.Jayou Ayen wrote:I like that they use images from the TV show on the box set cover.Random Sample wrote:if anyone wants to buy the books, they are selling the box set on amazon for $20.
