...and I'll say something I never thought I'd ever say: Mos Def is doing a good job on this.
agreed. my expectations went down a notch when i saw him in the season 6 trailer. haven't been annoyed with him yet.
also why does quinn seem to age 5 years more than anyone else on the cast between each season?

Season is one of the show's best. 3 swerves in the last episode, all unexpected and great.

His bro is just a delusion, like his dad, right?Dap wrote:agreed. this season is shaping up very well. interested to see how dexters brother will play a rolebattlecatmeowstab212 wrote:Season is one of the show's best. 3 swerves in the last episode, all unexpected and great.
I'm guessing the bro replaces the dad or the bro and dad do the devil angel shoulder thing, which would be pretty wack.

i know im a week behind but i just got a chance to watch last week's episode. good shit.
im glad dexter didnt go all repentant and shit.. i was worried for a second. also, im super stoked about brian resurfacing because the rudy/brian character was one of my favorites. this season is shaping up well. maybe my second fave after the trinity killer season (was that season 4?)

well that episode was fucking......i don't know. first of all, how is trinity's son still living at the same home where his family was murdered...what..a week earlier?
dexter steals a gun on CAMERA...then goes shooting fucking signs all over. never gets busted....
the dude he killed in this episode seemed unnecessary.
but meh, we'll see where it goes

yeah, hyping up the brother plot line -- errrr --- episode for the last few months was dumb as shit. It's retarded that it was only one episode, but thankfully it was only one episode. It's like they took a week off from making Dexter and decided to make Fight Club as a made-for-TV movie on the USA Network. Shit was trash.

I liked this last episode. I think it was a good setup with the brother coming back as Dexter choosing to ignore the "light" and then when he realized that Trinity's son wasn't really a killer then you can see how Brother Sam's influence stayed with him. I love them signifying that by him picking up his father on the way back.
With Hall catching cancer I think they are trying to give a "good" wrap up to Dexter. Can't have people cheering on a serial killer forever.

i was stoked to see the brother come back, if even for a bit, cuz that was the storyline of the series that really got me hooked initially.

Why not?Cash Rulz wrote: Can't have people cheering on a serial killer forever.
Elite television:
A high school science teacher sinking into meglomaniacal madness.
Mediocre television:
The slow and eventually tidy redemption of a serial killer.
If this show ended with Dexter getting caught and reaching between the bars to slit a Miami Metro cop's throat to get one last kill before he hit the electric chair it would be a huge fucking win. If it ends with him looking into that ugly little midget Harrison's caveman eyes and realizing his dark passenger has finally left him (cue convertible and sunset) I'll consider continuing the killing spree for him.

Well that was easily the worst episode this season and among the most disappointing in the show's entire run. Can't believe they wasted the director of 'Juice' on an episode this late in the season written by someone who has never wrote for the show before. Even as one of the show's biggest apologists, last night was inexcusable.
We're right back to status quo. A LaGuerta subplot nobody cares about, a needlessly complicated romance subplot nobody cares about, a way too predictable killer and the domestic Dexter nobody likes.
While the only character they're doing anything with is Deb and her friction (largely without crying this season) with Dexter is really coming into something interesting, I'm stunned how in one hour they've made the antithesis of what was making season 6 so refreshing.

One of the worst episodes in the show's history. Indefensible.
