I don't see how that's a spoiler. Anyone who has seen any of the Alien flicks is a fool if they didn't expect to see something like that. Personally, I'm glad it's confirmed.

Nice. Thanks for the thread link, I missed that the first time around. "At the Mountains of Madness" is one of my favorite Lovecraft stories, right behind "The Shadow Over Innsmouth."

Yes, but I think there was possibly a bit more to it than simply that near the end of the vid.

Probably right, but I'm done with the over thinking and analysing and just want to see the movie.

They should at least do like Matrix did and make a video game with cut scenes that fill in blanks.

I think that was great marketing on Matrix's part.

i'd rather have something like the animatrix than a video game simply because i don't play video games that often, but i def agree with the general idea of creating extra swag through other media

Best Buy has a pretty sweet bluray promotion going right now for this, all these titles are $9.99 and they each come with $10 movie cash for Prometheus, so you're basically getting free blurays if you're already planning on going to see this in theatres.

So does Ridley Scott only consider his Alien film to be part of canon? I know he broke from Cameron's Aliens in the fact that Cameron placed a queen in the movie.

From what i've seen he doesnt want to address this question head on. My guess is that prometheus will break from the alien story in some way and he doesn't wanna give any hints.

Yeah as long as the theater you're going to accepts Hollywood Movie Money than it doesn't matter if its IMAX or not, because to the theater its the same as cash.
Check the HMM website to see if the theater you plan on going to takes the money (most do).

Basically Ridley Scott introduced the Alien being through the "Space Jockey" which is the giant spaceman seen in the first Alien film with his ribcage busted open. Scott had intended the Alien to be a byproduct of these creatures a 'bio weapon' of sorts, in that case where would a 'queen' come from?
