Read all 10 books. It's easy to see why the series is revered as classic and why Jordan is so celebrated. Truly a great series. There are parts where I felt
he was slowing down in his writing but with a 10k page series, it's understandable.

Please don't ask me to compare it to Song of Ice and Fire. I naturally began comparing them but forced myself not to. While both series have similar qualities, the writing styles are vastly different.

Jordan is a better writer but Martin is better at adding that gritty feel to the fantasy world.

just finished this...pretty fucked up. It's about a serial killer who is attempting to create his own zombie through lobotomy. It's also a quick easy read.

Ryu Murakami is now my favorite contemporary author (I usually read older stuff so that admittedly doesn't mean much).

Really recommend In The Miso Soup in particular. It's about a guide for sextourists in Tokyo who gets hired by a weird American who he suspects to be a serialkiller. The novel that the movie Audition is based on is also a great read, even if you've seen the film. There's much more depth in the book obviously and many things are quite different.

just finished the steve jobs authorized biography...great and quick read, very well-organized, and brutally honest (jobs was a crybaby megalomaniac who went on fruitarian diets and attempted to treat his initial diagnosis of cancer with extreme diets and alternative medicine...huge idiotic fail, probably would still be alive if he didn't let his shit grow and metastasize for NINE MONTHS before finally accepting regular treatments/medicine)

just started the einstein biography

Great read about why several countries collapsed financially over the last part of the 2000's. Michael Lewis is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors as far as business-related books go. I've read 3-4 of his books and have never been disappointed.

I am astonished that this book was published in 1956, not only ahead of time but beyond the curve

supposedly his other book the demolished man is considered the first cyberpunk novel by many, weird that I never heard of him outside of a google search for sci-fi classics the other week

Trademark wrote:I read the Hunger Games Trilogy. IF that makes me a faggot so be it, but it was awesome. Every time I thought it would devolve into a high school romance triangle it pulled itself out with some amazing death, violence, and mayhem. I thought it was good shit, did anyone else read these?

Slogged through them a few months ago when I was away and had nothing else to read. Felt like I was reading something written by a gifted thirteen-year-old.

I read that joint back when I was in high school because Chuck Pahlaniuk listed him as an influence. Really excellent use of language, but moved mad slow (at least when I was 16, 17). Maybe I'll revisit.

read the majority of isaacson's stuff... including all three you listed... however.. isaacson does catch some flack for being a revisionist... i really enjoyed einstein's bio

just finished survivor by chuck palahniuk... never been a huge fan of his.. but it was a decent read..

you can tell it's his first book. I don't remember the writing in "moneyball" being as bad.
