Escape from Tomorrow (2013)
dir. Randy Moore

DVD will be available everywhere, while Best Buy has exclusive rights to the Blu-ray release.

Product Description:
The most provocative film from the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW should not exist, and yet it does. Like nothing you've ever seen, Randy Moore's directorial debut is a bold and ingenious trip into the happiest place on earth. An epic battle begins when a middle-aged American husband and father of two learns that he has lost his job. Keeping the news from his nagging wife and wound-up children, he packs up the family and embarks on a full day of park hopping amid enchanted castles and fairy tale princesses. Soon, the manufactured mirth of the fantasy land around him begins to haunt his subconscious. An idyllic family vacation quickly unravels into a surrealist nightmare of paranoid visions, bizarre encounters, and an obsessive pursuit of a pair of sexy teenage Parisians. Chillingly shot in black and white, Escape From Tomorrow dissects the mythology of artificial perfection while subversively attacking our culture's obsession with mass entertainment.

Il Sorpasso (The Criterion Collection) (1962)
dir. Dino Risi

An unpredictable journey that careers from slapstick to tragedy, this film, directed by Dino Risi (the original Scent of a Woman), is a wildly entertaining commentary on the pleasures and consequences of the good life. A holy grail of commedia all'italiana, Il sorpasso is so fresh and exciting that one can easily see why it has long been adored in Italy.

Hoping to gain an extra edge in their on-the-fringes occupation, both boys attempt to win Kitten’s favor Swifty by obsequiousness, Arbor by emulation. But the hardened Kitten seems to have no compassion for the youths who are yet so much like him, and the healthy competition between the two boys soon escalates until a wedge that threatens to end their friendship is driven between them. That is until a tragic event brings all three together in a way none of them ever thought possible. Echoing the unfettered depiction of British working class life of Ken Loach, director Clio Barnard’s THE SELFISH GIANT is a contemporary take on the Oscar Wilde fable about the virtue of being one’s self in the face of overwhelming adversity.

As they dashed around - hopeful against all odds -- Toback filmed the hilarious and revealing proceedings, from pitches to billionaires, studio moguls, producers, and international sales financiers, to intimate encounters with major movie stars and iconic directors whose passion for movies proves it's still possible to transcend the madness. Seduced and Abandoned is a cinematic romp capturing the tug-of-war between the dream of creating pure art and the reality of modern movie commerce.

Up the Junction (1968)
dir. Peter Collinson

Product Description:
Based on Nell Dunn's iconic tale of life in London's swinging sixties, Up the Junction is a memorable slice of British cinema starring Suzy Kendall (Tales That Witness Madness) as Polly and Dennis Waterman (TV's The Sweeney) as her hard-up boyfriend, Pete. The tale is of a bored, young party girl who decides to cast off her affluent Chelsea lifestyle to move to the industrialized ghetto of Battersea. In search of realism, Polly takes a factory job where she befriends sisters Rube (Adrienne Posta) and Sylvie (Maureen Lipman) and moves into a rundown apartment in the area. She soon discovers the seedier side of life in an impoverished world of crime, desperation and questionable morality-a side of life that everyone but Polly is desperately trying to leave behind. This beautiful and haunting film was directed by cult-filmmaker Peter Collinson (Innocent Bystanders, The Italian Job).

Hallucination Strip (1975)

Culminating in an extended and elaborately choreographed party sequence, underscored with an excellent soundtrack by Alberto Verrecchia, HALLUCINATION STRIP excels with its not-so-subtle mix of sex, drugs, religion, politics and corruption.

The age gap isn’t Lauren and Ed’s only challenge. They face the disapproval of Lauren’s parents, who are practically Ed’s contemporaries, and her skeptical older sister, who’s got a chaotic family of her own. On the other side, they endure Ed’s down-on-his-luck, live-in brother; his irresponsible grandson; and most vexing of all, his narcissistic, delusional ex-wife (Lindsay Duncan, Rome), who has moved into the house next door and plots to win her “Eddie Bear” back. With sharp writing and impeccable comic performances, You, Me & Them takes a lighthearted look at the merger of two complex, opinionated, and meddlesome families.

Notice the description says nothing about Disney? I haven't seen the movie, but I wondered if mascots and or signs had to be blurred or digitally removed.

There's way too much Disney for them to blur it out. It was shot in Disneyland, and a lot of the iconic sites play a key role in the film. The only thing the film changed was the music to It's a Small World. But there's no movie if they removed the rest of it.
