The Rock as a heel was great. As a face he was annoying as fuck.

Dusty Rhodes promos against Tully Blanchard and The Horsemen were the best ever. He is the GOAT. He had that southern politician's drawl, he made up words, he rhymed like a motherfucker and when he got excited he sounded like a fruit. I cant count how many times he had to hold back mid F-bomb.

The Rock hands down (This aint sing-along with the Champ), but I can't believe no ones mentioned the old HBK. He used to be GOLDEN.

The footage of The Horsemen chasing Rhodes and breaking his arm is on Youtube somewhere. Great shit.

For me, it begins and ends with Image As a kid, this dude had the scariest, most convincing promos. There's actually a clip floating around youtube somewhere of a recent promo Jake did, and he still has it.

Oh, and here's some Jericho goodness from WCW.
Announcing the participants of a cruiserweight battle royal.

Jericho was such an asshole that's why i would watch WCW periodically for his promos...I'm mad he didn't get no mic time in ECW, he was more about the wrestling there and when he was at WAR (fed in Japan) that was some of his best matches. and LMAO @ the announcing promo...that shit was hilarious. He called Juvi the "ugliest man in the tournament" and "Quasi-Juvi"

I love what he said about Silver King. "If he wins 12 more matches, he upgrades to Golden King."

Jericho was one of the illest at one point.

If Foley ain't in your top 5, your list is ass.

If I was making a top ten list

Steve Austin
Mick Foley
Arn Anderson
Ric Flair
Chris Jericho
Jake the Snake
New Jack
Raven (Especially in ECW, though his WCW Flock shit was sick too)
Rowdy Roddy Pipper
Vince MCmahon

Honorable mentions: Edge (Who could soon be on the list), Scott Steiner, Hulk Hogan, Jerry Lawler, CM Punk, King Booker

Not counting Jim Cornette and Hennan becuase they're managers

The Rock was an excellent worker. His ringwork is top notch. Movesets mean absolutely nothing.

The Rock told a story, had unmatchable psychology, great timing, great selling.

Dwyane Johnson is an excellent in ring performer? eeeeeeeeeeeeeek.

excellent is a word you use for in ring performers like hbk in his prime, bret hart, kurt angle, chris benoit, jericho, eddy guerrero, ricky steamboat. Rock was not excellent. above average, yes.......maybe even good but i wouldn't go that far. i'll give you he was good at selling other people's moves but i never was really into his matches unless he was in there with someone that can work his ass off in the ring.

can't think of that many classic matches that include the rock. rock vs. mankind in '99 is the only one that comes to mind even though there was a great match b/w the rock and HHH in the late 90's too.

You stopped watching wrestling because the Rock has atleast 10 matches that are between ****1/2-*****.

And his matches with Foley aren't even in the running for his best matches.

Kurt Angle is incredibly overrated in the ring, so is Shawn Michaels and so is Jericho. The Rock is better than all of them, Shawn being the possible exception.

Kurt Angle is a spot monkey, that has no psychology, and gets flustered in matches and relies on suplexes and other spots that totally kill the entire story of the match.

If you disagree, then give your reasoning. That corny ass "post a emoticon" shit ain't gonna work. Explain how Jericho, Shawn and Angle are better workers than the Rock. They have better movesets. That's it. There's nothing from a technical aspect of wrestling that makes them better. None of them tell stories, have as good psychology, timing as The Rock. Shawn oversells to much too.

Kurt Angle being a "great" worker ended about 2002. Catch up. People caught on to Angle's gimmicky matches 3 years ago.

Jericho was never great.

For the record, I'm not even really that much of a Rock fan. I mean, he's cool, but he's not one of my favorites. I like Jericho infinitely more.

i always thought the rock put on boring matches. he was athletic sure but i mean what else. like the people's elbow was great he gets style points for that. but yea honestly thats about it the way i see it. rock vs. austin matches = zzzzzzzzzz.

the aforementioned other guys all looked 999999 x more crisp in their matches. and doing so had better matches. plus they all could fly off the ropes. and Jericho had hella style btw. come on baby!!!!!

and whats wrong w/ overselling moves??? that shit is great sometimes....
