nah, he's talking about the actual DeAndre McCullough from The Corner, not the actor Sean Nelson who played him (and was also in Fresh and The Wood). The Corner was originally a True Crime book, which meant it was based on real people, DeAndre being one of them. In The Wire, DeAndre plays Lamar, Brother Mouzone's goon/bodyguard

I think the director of Rachel Getting Married (shouts to dat boy Ice) did the same thing. Some of the actors in there were actual flood victims from his documentary on Katrina.

I just re-watched all 5 seasons over the Christmas break. I feel like I love every season equally right now. This is like the 4th time I've watched all the seasons again and it didn't lose any appeal each time I've watched them.

Anyway, recently rewatched. Was browsing the IMDB boards and found this connection that I had completely missed on previous viewings. (Full Thread HERE.)

Yeah, I caught that one. There were a couple other scenes like that as well. And I'm fairly certain there's a boatload of shit I missed. Every time I rewatch the Wire, I see new things, see the same topics in a different light or catch a new metaphor.

Still comfortably my favorite show. Other shows are coming close (Breaking Bad) or were very good as well (Sopranos, Deadwood and I suppose Twin Peaks, even though I haven't seen that one yet), but the Wire has never been surpassed.

i remember the second and third scenes with that girl (third was very memorable) but never made the connection. oh actually i think i remember the first. she's tryna score & dude wants her to hang out but shes like nah gotta go.

so best scene in the wire by far - i don't even have any other contender in my mind - it's where stringer confesses to avon that he killed d'angelo. the intensity in that scene is unrivalled. the acting is perfect, dialogue is perfect and it plays avon's tough guy image against his current infirmity. this is the crux of the whole series.

Without a doubt one my favorite scenes in the series. Its too difficult single out a "best" though.
