no he has a point.

at the time of airing, the big picture wasn't evident yet. all you had was a very good cop show essentially focused on how cops work within the hood (this is a gross oversimplification too). season 2 was where you first got the sense of where show was going in the long run - after showing you where the drugs end up, we saw where they come from.

ziggy is one of the best characters in the whole show in pretty much every way. complex, compelling, well realized, incredibly acted

drizzle- fair point. I caught up through season 3 after already having read recaps and what not online so I had more context for season 2. I can understand it being jarring at the time, but once somebody's seen all 5, I'm not sure how valid that criticism is.

ziggy is awesome.

I was late to the party but have since watched the whole series 3 times.

I don't rank 4 as high as others, maybe I just don't like kids (reverse dids)

Dunno. I used to teach high school, and season 4 is the closet thing I've ever seen to an accurate portrayal of an under serviced high school or teaching high school in film or television. That's really not saying much, but it's worth something. Having one moderate success story that you didn't have very much to do with out of a "resource" class of 40 kids is more similar to what the job is like than anything else out there.

Season two diehards are worse than the noobz you're referring to. It's not a bad season, but it was a huge departure. Watching it now is far more enjoyable than when it aired originally.

McNulty's nautical mapping stunt >>>>>> A lot of shit.
Very much on point.

There's nothing wrong with Season 2 from a technical standpoint, I just found myself wanting more of what I loved about season 1.

damn yo

when the wire discussions first started taking place, everyone hated season 2 except for a couple people (All I remember was me and Ice liking it....no offense to others who didn't). Now everyone loves it, eh?

Firstly, I didn't set trends with anyone. I could give a fuck about that.

Secondly, I did read the whole thread before i posted originally. Did you want me to sympathize because people didn't appreciate each season as seperate entities?

Ok.

I feel bad for you faggots.

I don't want a foreword by Icesickle. I watch movies that have been made before 1970.

Yeah, if you don't want "The Wire" spoiled for you you should probably avoid all rap music recorded after 2003.
