^absolutely. This ep was above and beyond every other ep by far. One of the best single eps of tv in a minute.
plus some cool little nods to the movie. Like the money..

As much as I loved HBO's True Detective, I think Fargo is even better. This show is so great and will most likely be my pick for show of the year.

Don't know the symbology, prob consistent with crickets tho. But I'm guessin it just was just some fluky shit, like a cargo plane busted midflight and hence the tuna.intuition wrote:plz explain fish.

Re: Fargo (TV Series)
wasn't gonna peep but my cousin had it on. glad i did. show has some coen cred due to billy bob.
the wide shots that show the environment are on some coen shit imo, as well as the action scenes (eg two shells to the torso). some of the dialogue reminds me of the coens, especially chubby-but-fuckable lady cop.
love the cast, every character is interesting, even tom hanks's halfwit son.

Maybe not even a plane. This kinda shit happens often enough to warrant its own wikipedia page:peanut butter wrote:Don't know the symbology, prob consistent with crickets tho. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raining_animals#Fish

http://www.financialexpress.com/news/fi ... ise/272219Two persons first noticed the phenomenon when the little slimy things started pattering on their body while they were returning home late in the night. As they thought that people would reject this as a mere fantasy or concocted tale unless there was a tangible proof, they picked up some of the bubbling fish and kept them in a water-filled bucket near the village library.
"There is no reason to disbelieve what the villagers say, as it is possible to have a scientific explanation for this", CK Rajan of the School of Marine Sciences of the Cochin University of Science and Technology said when asked about the phenomenon.
"When convective clouds are formed, it is possible that tiny aquatic organisms get lifted to the atmoshpere. They can survive suspended in the clouds so long as the clouds have moisture content," he said.
That wiki page cites four examples of raining fish between 1861-1947 and and then five between 08-12. Which begs the question...where did the falling/flying fish go for like 50 years?

Re: Fargo (TV Series)
Been a few episodes behind for a minute, finally caught up, what a fucking show. TV is in a good, good place right now. True Detective and this show are redefining what TV is capable of. Fish reminded me of the frogs from Magnolia.
Billy Bob's character is incredible but all the acting is great. Colin Hanks bodies his role, as does Oliver Platt.
Both scenes an episode back with Hanks' neighbor were great, the parable scene and the one where Billy Bob acts cool before making threats while parked outside the apartment.

It's on my list, trust. Season one queued up on amazon and season 2 on the DVR, just need the time.
Re: Fargo (TV Series)
so did the chick cop die? i know she got shot but my friend and I were debating whether it showed blood spilling out below her.
Re: Fargo (TV Series)
some people are saying she is wearing a bulletproof vest. so im not sure...
also, i heard this show is going to be similar to True Detectives, in the way that next season they are going to have a whole new cast, story, and little town.
so if that is true, it doesn't seem like it would be too important if she actually did die...

"Writer and executive producer Noah Hawley is already planning Season 2 of the series, but says during the FX project's TCA 2014 winter press tour panel that each future season of "Fargo" will focus on a difference facet of the "small townness" and "innocence" of the town. He opted not to have it be a case-of-the-week type of show because that would make the character of Molly Solverson (newcomer Allison Tolman) deal with so much darkness that she would "be on 'Criminal Minds.'""
