Agreed. If you can have a bunch of people who aren't even in the match come and help you, why doesn't everyone do that every year?

Agreed. I think the WWE needs to institute some serious (kayfabe) punishments for wrestlers that don't leave ringside ASAP, and maybe institute a count-out rule for wrestlers outside the ring. Maybe an automatic long-term suspension for interfering in the Royal Rumble as a non-participant or following elimination, automatic elimination if you don't enter the ring before the next entrant is announced, and a 10-count rule for participants exiting between the ropes.

There are still some holes to exploit there, but fewer than currently exist. You'd inevitably get the heel that does just enough to break the 10-count, but then you can have the payoff be everyone in the ring giving him a huge beatdown after the third or fourth time.

Either way, definite plot holes.

That said... I thought the pacing, order of entrants, order of elimination, and who eliminated who was brilliant. The meat and potatoes of the Rumble was great- the only person they could've had eliminate AJ without the crowd shitting all over it was Owens. Then he got his come-uppance almost immediately in the form of Sami Zayn. Braun Strowman was booked appropriately as the new monster of the Rumble. Pretty enjoyable IMO.

Raw was awesome. Styles/Jericho delivered. Rock returning was cool. Was mad at HHH Winning the rumble, but he did a great promo imo

The NXT Takeover Dallas card overall might be the best they have yet. Amazing show. Makes up for the heartbreak that the planned Nakamura-Dalton Castle isn't happening at the next ROH PPV.

I'm pretty sure there was once a "if you haven't entered the ring before the next entrant, you're eliminated" rule.

Also Finlay was once DQed for saving Hornswoggle in the Rumble, or vice versa.

Kinda crazy that styles looked small compared to jericho. It just makes you cringe knowing Vince noticing how that looks on TV...

That DQ was because Finlay came out before his number was called.

Weirdly, they could kayfabe the reason for different RUmble rule changes based on who was the authority figure at the time.

Gorilla Monsoon made the rule that if someone already eliminated throws you out, you're not eliminated. They kept to that in the late 90s until a different commissioner was named. Since then, the wishy-washyness of the rules weirdy enough can be traced to, storyline-wise, whoever is in power.

I guess if you really think about it, The Authority's lack of punishment for the Wyatt Family could simply come down to the fact that they wanted Lesnar out before Triple H entered the match. It just feels kinda cheap.

I think they're planting the seeds for a Wyatts-Authority Feud. They've been teasing it for quite sometime, going back to Bray saying "the devil made me do it" when randomly attacking Bryan and Punk back in 2013. Could be the big summer angle.

That would be in line with the long expected Ambrose heel turn.

WWE is a bunch of morons to continue pushing Reigns as The Guy when Ambrose is RIGHT fucking there in front of them. He's ready, they just need to pull the trigger on it.
