Office minus Michael Scott

Post by Philaflava »

The show must come to an end w/o Scott. Maybe a spin-off with Dwight but the show simply cannot exist without Steve Carell.
The Office star Steve Carell has dismissed rumours his plan to leave the hit U.S. comedy is a ploy for a pay rise - because he simply wants to spend more time with his family.

The actor has played embarrassing boss Michael Scott on the series since 2005, in a role based on Ricky Gervais' original star turn in the British version of the show.

Carell confirmed last month he doesn't plan to return to the series after its next season, and he's looking forward to taking a hiatus from Hollywood to be a better dad to kids Elisabeth, nine, and John, five, with his wife Nancy.

He tells the National Enquirer, "It's not a negotiating tactic at all. It's just that I want to spend more time with my kids right now."

But Carell isn't planning to laze around the house - he wants to become a fixture at the local general store he purchased in rural Marshfield Hill, Massachusetts, currently managed by his sister-in-law, Tish Vivado.

He adds, "I will be manning the cash register and stocking the shelves as times permits."

No lost and no office?

If they don't renew parks and rec I no longer need a tv.

Parks is getting pushed back to midseason next year because they're trying to slot some new comedy in on Thursday nights.

Sorry man. I'm the fucking grinch today.

*Patton got dropped off that sitcom at the last second, right after the first table read, lol. (here: http://goo.gl/SAWH ).

*NBC passed on The Strip, the Tom Lennon/Ben Garant show (here: http://goo.gl/4Gmf )

It's this, which sounds horrible:
Comedy feature 'Outsourced' to NBC
Nellie Andreeva
Sun Oct 7, 2007 7:48pm EDT
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - NBC is heading east with "Outsourced," an India-set comedy based on the newly released indie film of the same name.

The story centers on a customer service manager in Seattle whose department is outsourced to India, and he goes there to train his replacement. The project explores the clash of the Western and Indian cultures, and chronicles the manager's romance with a local woman. NBC ordered a pilot script.

The premise of a romantic comedy about an American man falling for a woman from a different ethnic background draws parallels to another indie film, the smash hit "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." A half-hour series version of "Greek" ran briefly on CBS in early 2003.

"Outsourced" feature scribes George Wing ("50 First Dates") and John Jeffcoat are on board to write the pilot script. They also will serve as executive producers, along with pilot director Ken Kwapis ("The Office").

Jeffcoat also directed the movie, which stars Josh Hamilton and Ayesha Dharker and opened in limited release last month.

at least something will be going on to watch on tv... i think an office without scott is doable if they get someone apt to replace him.

The show's already not as funny as it use to be (there's been some awful eps this season). This would be the death blow.

Seriously, end the show if Steve Carrell leaves.

The office used to have a 5 second minimum between laughs, recently there are entire scenes that are unfunny, including some that are even bordering on bad drama / love shit.

My 2 fav creed lines in the show ever are:

1) When someone took a dump in Micheal's office and the whole office is gathered around his door, creed walks up and says "Hey guys, somebody making soup?"

2) The one where he talks about transfering all of his debt to a man he killed

There's also his blog that is an ongoing Microsoft word document with that absurd address www.//creedthoughts.org.creedthoughts.www.com

When he finds out that Jim has an apartment by the quarry and he tells him "Hey, cool, man. We should get together and throw things into the quarry.

His admission to having a lot of sex in the sixties and that because his casual partners were covered in mud, a man could have easily have been one of them and he wouldn't have known.

His admission to not only being a member of several cults, but also being a cult leader.

When the cops come in the "Frame Toby" episode and Creed bucks the fuck out of the office.

Phyllis' wedding where he rips someone's envelope off of a big gift box and puts his own on instead.

Paying to use the women's restroom.

Dying his hair jet black during the launch of Dunder-Mifflin Infinity.

All the teenagers in town knowing him because he runs a fake ID business out of his car.

He was in an iron lung as a child.

When he wins the refrigerator and then admits to never owning one in his confessional.

This season has been fucking horrible. The Jim and Pam storyline has completely ruined the show. I hardly laugh now when I watch it.

No way NBC cancels the show unless a miracle happens and they produce 3 or 4 hits and people actually watch the other comedies they have. Office without Scott is still a better lead in/out than say 30 Rock which has some shitty ass ratings.

My favorite Creed moment might be him dangling the chain of paperclips right in front of the newborn and the mother says to be careful because it might swallow one and he's like oh it's alright, I've got a bunch of 'em.

Parks & Rec has been the best show on NBC by far this whole season. The only show that has been better so far this year is It's Always Sunny.
