His book Beware the Night details how he uses his cop-hardened savvy to combat supernatural evil at every turn and served as the inspiration for the 2014 movie Deliver Us from Evil. Now in The Demon Files, Sarchie and his team travel across the country meeting with people apparently suffering from demonic activity. (Premieres November 1st)

Sweet 15: Quinceañeras (TLC)
Image

In Miami, there are parties-- and then there are Quinceañeras. A Latin girl's fifteenth birthday party is her entry into womanhood, and each one is a totally unique celebration of family and tradition, from a girl's dance with her father to a court of 30 attendants to incredible themed experiences like a grand entrance under manmade south Florida snow. And nobody knows this world more than cousins Alexis, Jarling and Daniela. Their family-owned business is Bella Quinces, a one-stop shop providing one-of-a-kind memories for these girls and their proud parents. Quinceañeras dresses. Themed photo shoots. High-quality music videos. Stunning photographs on the big day. They do it all--and everything in between.
With roots in Cuba and Puerto Rico, Bella Quinces was started 40 years ago by Alexis's parents. Today he owns the business with his wife Daniela as they keep his parents' dream alive. Alexis's cousin Jarling is the fun-loving one who manages the store. And Alexis's mom, Irmina is officially retired, but stays involved with her family and her store. They are a colorful family with countless other families as clients every day. They've seen traditions change over the years and must always find creative ways to blend the cultural traditions of the past with the new and modern ideas of today. One thing that doesn't change? The need to manage mom's expectations and settle a father's fears as his daughter steps into adulthood.
In the world of Quincea?eras, girls have bigger and bigger plans every year. Photo shoots in hot air balloons, with alligators and camels, and even in Paris. Parties with not one but two or three dresses, and themes stretching from the Roaring Twenties to the polar icecap. And all the while, this family has to fit their own lives in. But from across the ocean, to underwater and high above Miami, this team will do whatever it takes to make their Quinceañeras’ dreams come true! (Premieres November 3rd)

Coach Charming (TLC)
Image

Bill Alverson is the most desired pageant coach in the U.S. and is responsible for transforming hopefuls into the country's top title holders. In the small town of Andalusia, Alabama Bill is a prominent attorney and a very involved father of three. His candid and blistering honesty have made him a sought after champion behind the pageant stage, and in the courtroom alike.
Coach Charming follows Bill as he meets with aspiring pageant competitors to teach them how to choose the right dress, make the perfect speech, show off their special talent, and take the all-important walk down center stage in their gown. It's not all lipstick and high heels. This is the real deal. Bill specializes in preparing contestants for the interview segment, which is one of the most important portions of a pageant. Hair extensions and bedazzled dresses are a piece of cake, but you can't fake smarts and poise. Throughout the season, Bill makes it his mission to prepare the girls both mentally and aesthetically to claim their crown!
Bill's advice doesn't stop at his contestants or law clients. His blunt style often causes fireworks in his personal life--especially when interacting with his close-knit family. Whether he's firing off with his daughter-in-law Helen Ann on what she should eat, drink and wear during her pregnancy; lecturing his youngest daughter, Stella on how and who to date; preaching to his oldest son and law partner, William on how to pursue a case; or inserting his opinions on his daughter, Blanche's future basketball career, Bill isn't afraid to speak his mind when it comes to his family. A memo from J. Edgar Hoover himself states: "American Army officials in Germany have not located Hitler's body nor is there any reliable source that will say definitely that Hitler is dead." Armed with the most cutting edge technology and these newly released FBI files, the team will approach this case like a modern death claims investigation. After earning his keep through years of hard work he doesn’t intend to simply hand over the keys to the family castle. Master P is a dad on a mission to create generational wealth guided by the personal mantra "I'm your father, not your friend." Bob & David for sure. Man in the High Castle has an interesting premise but I'll probably hold out until the full season reviews are in.

Just read Sepinwall's gushing review of Master of None, essentially calling it Aziz's version of Louie. Will probably give it a shot.

Fwiw ran through Man In High Castle this weekend and it was dope (I've never read the original). The show has its share of issues like any other, but nothing deal breaking imo. The little details of the Nazi/Japanese worlds are very well realized, which helps a lot when story hits some rough/convoluted patches. Kinda surprised Rufus Sewell didn't get more shine for his role in this, he is awesome as the lead villain.
