LOL. Pretty much.Martin wrote:if you see it and dont get it, its not because its not good, its because you are stupid.
Just saw it last night. I loved it. I'm debating whether or not it's better than Requiem. I'm leaning towards yes. It's clearly his most mature movie.

why?
Darren Aronofsky wrote:Well, I think if anything we're getting really heated responses. That's exciting to me. And that's what happened at that fucking first screening in Venice, was there was a fight between two journalists. That to me was the story. Not that some people booed and some applauded. It's that there was a fight, that they got into it like that.

I cant believe how much it was hated on by critics

SPOILERS
It's very confusing. But once you get it it's easy.
My understanding was the Spainish Conquistador stuff was her book interpreted by Hugh Jackman's character as he read it and the future stuff was Jackman's character meditating cause he was in so much pain cause his wife is dying. So yeah, you're right.Patches O'Houlihan wrote:Cass help me here: SPOILER ALERT.................................

people are faggots, it's a well known factGregg Popabitch wrote:i still don't understand why it was booed.
i want to know before i spend money on this.
the fact that people are effected this much by it, negatively or positively, is definitely another reason to see it in itself

I'm surprised at the overwhelmingly positive responses in this thread. I haven't seen the flick and kind of can't stand Aronovsky (love Rachel Weisz though, shoutout to the Mummy), but from what I've read (no Icesickle), this flick is mostly intellectual masturbation. Provocative intellectual masturbation, but masturbation nontheless. Speaking of masturbation, I would like to masturbate to Rachel Weisz, is she naked in this?

NIGGA HOW BOUT YOU DON'T EXPLAIN THIS MOVIE AND FINALLY EXPLAIN YOUR SIGcascarrabias wrote:LOLGregg Popabitch wrote:i won't listen to what a jew that is racist against muslim tells me.
anyone else?
When people don't understand something, they immediately think it is stupid. The Fountain is difficult to understand and so people booed it cause they didn't get it.

PLEASE DO!!Martin wrote:absolutely. same composer as requiem. if anyone wants i can upload this later. im passionate as fuck about this movie right now.eris wrote: Definitely suggest the soundtrack.
especially if the music includes her saying "finish it"
that shit with the music was killing me each time.
loved this film
it might be intellectual masturbation because it didn't allow the emotional weight of the situation to be central, but fuck it... i think that's the point.
that it isn't about the pain, its about understanding that it is all circular and that it is irrelevant to the greater accomplishment of becoming complete.
that's my little understanding.
loved the use of color and the fact that he kept calling her "iz" as in "is" as in "to be" and her name is Izzy Creo.
just little details I kept picking up that made it all the better.
