Coldplay is definitely one of those bands that could do no wrong, but lasted 2 albums.
basically everyone started mimicking thier piano rock and they couldn't even solidify themselves as the best doing it with that shitty third record.
had great videos too.
i don't get why rappers who are on top of the world, would collaborate with a man who hasn't had a hit single in two years? let alone a good album in 3 to 4?
i'm pretty sure all of the bands mentioned can/will still sell a million records again..
and if not they could all easily live off touring for the rest of their lives
what the hell is modest mouse doing in this thread??
they are probably my favorite touring group right now... they have mastered the live set.
and their albums are still fucking great.
it hurts to agree with the RHCP, Metallica, Beasties statement... but its beyond true.
all of these bands should just stick to touring every two years.
and only play old material

To be fair... St.Anger and Stadium Arcadium are decent albums and better than most shit that's major label today. But... To The 5 Burroughs? I'm still scratching my head about it's 5* review in RS.

No one has worst taste in rappers than rock critics.
linkin park and coldplay still sell a lot of records.
never liked either though.
st anger was horrible. I hated load and reload when they came out, because it didn't sound like metallica, but I kind dig some songs on the records now.
st anger from any perspective is a hot garbage.
I'd agree that RHCP and U2 need to call it quits, not because they are less popular or good live than before, but because they keep recording the same album over and over.
