Let's see, The Roc has "Diplomatic Immunity", "Come Home With Me", a few other Cam 12"s, a bunch of Jay albums and 12"s, those early Sauce Money 12"s, 3 Beanz albums, first State Prop album and a couple of 12"s from the 2nd State Prop, both Freeway albums, a few Peedi 12"s, 3 KanYe albums, the first Young Gunz album and the Paid In Full soundtrack.
Death Row has "Deep Cover" 12", "The Chronic", the 12" with "Puffin' On Blunts.." on the flip, "Doggy Style", "Murder Was The Case", "Above The Rim", "Dogg Food", that Daz album and maybe a couple of 2pac 12"s.
Okay, fuck all that, what it basically boils down here to is Paid In Full >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Murder Was The Case.
The Roc wins.

kinda sorta.Req wrote:Death Row, easily.
Death Row was unquestionably more powerful and dominant.
Rocafella was kinda the default superpower when Ruff Ryders flamed out and Cash Money/No Limit were not doing similar stuff.
Plus Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel (and Sauce Money for a second) carried more than their fair share of the legacy. There was X amount of MEH on the Roc.
I'd take Kurupt music over Memphis Bleek anyday

Cam ain't REALLY Roc-a-fella. He was a Dame Dash-sponsored infiltration.
Hell, Cam sideways dissed Jay-Z on the song that they rapped on together on 'Come Home With Me'!
I loved it, referencing Prodigy when Jigga and P Dub were beefin' hard. Only Cam is that blatantly, carelessly disrespectful.
Take away Jay and take away Snoop, and the difference between the two dynasties is more obvious.
Suge wins. and hip hop loses.

Nonsense. Cam'ron was part of the most profitable and important, and best era of the Roc dynasty. That's like saying 2Pac ain't Death Row.Mindbender Futurama wrote:Magneto wrote:Jay, Beans, Cam vs. Pac, Snoop and KuruptMindbender Futurama wrote:kinda sorta.Req wrote:Death Row, easily.

well, in essence I agree, cause Cam was the only other one to go platinum besides Jay-Z on the whole damn label.Magneto wrote:Nonsense. but Cam got signed (and was crowned "vice president" ) when Jay-Z wasn't even there!
ironically, I just got past the part in Ronin Ro's dope Dr. Dre biography that states that Suge brought Tupac to Death Row totally without Dr. Dre's approval.
Magneto, I'm sure you know how 'California Love' was originally a solo Dre song that Suge and Pac gaffled.
all in all, I'd say Death Row dominated hip hop in its prime more than Rocafella did in its prime.
but i love them both :cookiecookie:
and well done, ackbar.
