I will say one thing. Regardless of whom you prefer, Madlib's drums DESTROY Kanye's. It's like John Bonham versus the drummer in Michael Bolton's lounge band.

Madlib doesn't dig deep at all. Most of Quasimoto was made from UBB records. How the fuck is that deep? Someone caught him in an interview citing a made up track name from a Dusty Fingers release. He was saying it was one of his favorite breaks.

it depends on what kind of drum style u like , i think kanyes drums have way more bounce and play the background nicely. i think his patterns are a lot better too.

Madlib is not that nice on the mic. Kanye isn't exactly a wordsmith either, but he is clearly better.

Wrong and wrong again

"You like to make ridiculous statements to shock people"

Saying that Quasimoto's the unseen is better than College dropout

HipHoppin wrote:Kanye is a better MC and a better producer. Yeah his style might be growing old and Madlib's shit is really diverse, but Madlib has put out alot of shitty beats. He got like a 1 to 5 ratio of hot beats to bad/mediocre ones, while Kanye's shit is like 1 to 2.

The style of producing and sampling shouldn't factor in to the discussion because the final products should be compared. I'm kinda anti-Kanye right now because alot of his newer shit he's been doing is weak but he's still better than Madlib.

Both have plenty of bangers and both of em are dope, but I voted for K West.

^^^lol.. right..

Kanye is not a far below average emceee.....I'll admit his voice isn't great...or his breath control...but he's very witty (although the same word rhyming shit is KILLING me at this point)...flow is decent

technically and shit... I'd call him an above average emcee, top 50 out now.. maybe top 25... but I dunno cuz Breeze Brewin's coming back and he takes up the first 20 spots

Kanye's tendency to experiment with his cadence to annoying degrees puts him far below Madlib on my listenable rappers list.

I voted for Madlib

I dunno if its just me but is Kanye getting kind of annoying. Hes on everyones song rappin the same way about the same shit. I loved Kanye when he first came out, but now he needs to chill for a while, maybe produce for some peeps without rapping. Plus he seems arrogant as hell now, he said in an interview that HE WAS ON THE SAME LEVEL RHYME WISE AS JAY Z & NAS   i wa slike THE FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH THAT, hes not even remotely close. Hes a dope producer don't get me wrong & i like his music & i even like his rapping but he really needs to chill. Also he acts like hes the only cat rockin LO , fuck that dudes been up on that long before him.

Madlib consistently makes bangin beats & he seems chill as fuck. Madlib's beats on JayLib > a good amount of Kanye's beats.

Madlib isn't a great rapper either, but neither is Kanye, but when Madlib goes into Quasimoto mode its Madlib > Kanye rhyme wise. Madlib is gonna get bigger i think to, he's workin with Busta Rhymes right now.

i don't know about you guys.

i think kanye is a great MC. if you can't pick out that he's way above average, theres something wrong. what exactly is wrong with his rapping?

madlib on the other hand isn't a very good rapper at all. His rhymes are very simple and he often won't even bother to rhyme. The beats carry him.

now if they ever made a KanLib album, that would be the hot shit.

Madlib is probably a better all-around producer, but Kanye's mainstream appeal is good because at least most of his songs are listenable, if not really good...and since he gets tons of radio play, that's definitely a good thing.

As rappers though, Kanye>Madlib by a great degree. Madlib annoys me...I think I like the Quasimoto voice more than his normal one...

The fact that you pointed out that your personal opinion of Kanye's personality has anything to do with whether you like or dislike his music negates any statement that you make in this thread.
