Westside might be dead...

Post by Philaflava »

But it'll never be forgotten. Kill all that noise about the contrived music or how it wasn't boom-bapish enough for you, WSC were fucking dope. It was really the only time I could stomach listening to Mack 10 because he was surrounded by Cube and the super-underrated and most unappreciated WC.

WSC had hits for days. Appreciate the gangsta, the killa and the dope dealer.

i respect them, but at the time they came out, they were pretty bad for hip hop.

they got some jams tho, of course.

One of the few Supergroups to actually deliver.

WC is one of my favorites. Style > Substance all day.

It's a damn shame that Common is a significantly more popular rapper than WC these days.

Westside Connection were okay. WC is raw, Ice Cube was still tolerable. Mac-10 is complete garbage though.

WC's last album was great. He has more style than most Cali and NY rappers. I wish he was known by more than just a few hundred people.

If we tell more people he was the guy in the beginning of Set It Off trying to rob the bank then they may know who we're talking about. But I agree as far as style. Everytime I've heard him make a guest appearnace, he always kills it.

Does ANYBODY like Mack-10?

I used to consider him the most overrated rapper of all time, but I'm starting to think nobody rates him as it is.

I still enjoy the shit outta his first album, but that's obviously mostly due to the beats. He's a pretty generic and bland rapper. On a side note, K-Dee is one of my favorite rappers of all time, and because of that fact this is my favorite song off of the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MYBn6vDRvE
Gloss continues to funnel Kia's semen into his kike mouth.

TRUE. Furthermore, Westside Connection were just adding fuel to an already brewing fire. "Bow Down" dropped in '96 right? So it was after Pac claimed Diddy had him set up, after Dogg Pound dropped "New York, New York," and after Snoop came through the award show talking about "New York ain't got no love for SNOOP DOGG!?!?" And Suge saying "Come to Death Row, I won't be all up in your videos, singing on your hooks, etc" You can't tell me they played an integral irreversible role in the division, they just hoped on the Bandwagon really.

And yes Mack 10 is a horrible horrible rapper.

Yeah it is... and the track of the Friday soundtrack.

Don't think I've listened to anything else of his besides the WSC albums.
