two weeks ago when arsenal lost back to back games THEY were a sinking ship..i love how week to week the fate of players, teams, countries, so dramatically switches...striker so and so hasnt scored in 3 matches..he sucks! striker so and so scores a hat trick this week versus shitkickers united...world's best striker! team x loses twice in september, title chase over! team y wins three in a row, and scores 29 goals, best team ever!

Not exactly. Losing points away in Machester isn't the same as dropping points to Burnley, Sunderland or whoever. Last year we dropped points to Hull and Fulham at the very start. Good to see we shrugged off the habit so far. We're the most scoring team right now, but the defense is obviously a bit too leaky.

Someone on 5 Live, might have been Gab Marcotti, was talking about that Arsenal performance and made some interesting points. Arsenal may not be winning trophies, but the fans don't care when you get to see games like that.

I watched it in the pub and was heading home to catch the 2nd half of the West Ham game on the radio. My train passes Arsenal and the carriages were buzzing. People just seemed really, really chuffed. The game may end up being inconsequential, but you've just seen a great game and watched another team get absolutely walloped. And I guess that's what its about. Or maybe i'm too used to watching a team that never wins anything.
