The album isn't really an album. It's a bunch of throwaway shit he sold to a label to put out. I don't disagree with you saying it sucks and it's kinda of pathetic he's at the point he has to do it. But I wouldn't consider that a real album in his catalog. It's nothing more than a street mixtape if you will.Comedy Quaddafi wrote:So why does his new album suck so much?Mindbender Futurama wrote:fuck the bollocks, Beanie Sigel can still rap good.Comedy Quaddafi wrote:I know most of you have an odd fascination with Beans, but I hope you can concede that hes just about over now. This is why rap is silly. There isn't a rapper out that is going to take down Jay, when we are talking monetary/industry success. If Nas couldn't stop Jay from moving units, with Ether, how you think this will? Its so funny all of these convos on the net in forums, the truth is NAS has more respect then Beanie overall. You all dont want to understand how MUCH LEGACY plays into these things. That's cool for the moment, put your career up. That's why Jay in this era of moneyball forever wins.
I dont know about y'alll, but BP3 is about the only thing I hear outside my window in BK. Everything else spoken is pretty much false. Jay went plat again, unless he gets caught in Beyonce's thong, clutching his man boobs, none of this means shit. Jay has transcended the little club called "hip hop". The man is a global worldwide brand/phenomenon. Baby is delusional, Jay has enough money to buy and sell young money. HE nor WAYNE is bigger from a money standpoint.
The track is dope (and Beanie came nice to me on OBFCL2 as well..) but seriously people, the MASSES are not going to all of a sudden stop supporting Jay because someone boo hooed and *gasp* exposed Jay's shady biz practice? Hate to tell you, hip hop heads no longer dictate whether an artist lives or dies...at least not on the level that Jay is. The man just went Plat and is the only thing anyone has talked about in the hip hop mainstream media world for the past month and he's 40. Drake has quietly been pushed to the background (not saying he's not going to resurface, but still think about that...BP3 pushed aside everyone...literally). Truth is, rap rules no longer apply here. This is a completely different world/game we live in.

I dont think its that easy, Beanie as everyone has pointed out, never left the streets. You dont think that strengthened Jay's own legacy? Since Rap has been re invented as a world where street cred is paramount to everything (see Gucci Mane...) Beanie added legitimacy to a label who was run by someone who clearly as evidence has shown, got off the streets (why anyone would ever consider that a bad thing is either privileged, or really has a gangstas paradise view of thing) into the boardroom and really wanted to get a in a real position of power. Jay's immunity to all of the "rap shit" is directly tied to him expanding his base and moving beyond the same tropes and images that we all believe are exactly what makes you "real" in 2009. Is anyone really on Jay's level of artist autonomy?Gyangsta 4 Life wrote:Entourage rappers and their sense of entitlement.
With that said, in order for him to root himself or maintain that street veneer, cats like Beanie made that believable, possible. Who knows what was promised? Who knows what was actually "done for him"? This "beef" for Beans at least on wax is more about loyalty then crying over spilled milk. All the gossiping we do is based on what we get revealed to us. We have no idea what type of sitaution was had between Beanie and Jay, only as much what each man will allow to strengthen their public position.

I love and hate what happened to the Roc-a-fella Dynasty, I'm a huge Jay-Z/Nas stan, and I studied how it all fell apart incessantly. I still want Dame Dash to return to music (I know I gotta catch up on the Black Keys shits)... but this is the moment I been waiting for for years. I have said on this very website for years how Jay-Z did Foxy Brown wrong, Jaz-O wrong, Nas wrong, Sauce Money wrong, Amil wrong, his Tupac jocking has been blasphemous at times... et cetera.
BTW: this is better than 'Fuck Compton'. that record was a shock gimmick that took balls, but c'mon... shit was childish as fuck. You can't put 'Fuck Compton' in the same sentence as 'The Bridge is Over', LOL.
I will be listening to this in 2 years, when I see what the fuck Jay-Z has done since BP3, and see where Beans is at in his unfortunately rap life.

real rappers have peaks and valleys in their career. Beanie Sigel can OBVIOUSLY still rap his fucking ass off. This record is hard body gangsta, right in the pocket, fresh, and maybe one of the BEST EVER examples of "this is the realest shit I ever wrote" on a Tupac level of gangsta confession.

and the Jay-Z/Beanie Sigel song on 'The Solution' is as good as damn near anything on BP3. It's fucking WAY better than at least half the album:

Jay and Nas don't seem that loyal. It must be hard as fuck to be them, and I love them to death... but nuff of their decisions to help people seem to backfire.
it's like none of these guys (Jay, Nas or Kanye... and possibly 50) is really willing to help anyone become superstars on their A-list level.

Broadstreet Bully is out and it's not good at all. Apparently it's not an official release though. It's just a bit funny that you're this excited about it, I don't have anything against your enthusiasm, but it's still a bit amusing. I think it's a silly situation, if a friend of mine thought I was out of line I wouldn't expect him to make a song about it - I'm not a rapper however...
What do I 'live for'? Certainly not rap or even hiff-hoff, although it's inarguably a big part of my life.

Mindbender is truly pathetic : a 34 year old spending his friday and saturday nights squawking on message boards about rapper gossip nobody over the age of 15 should give a 2nd thought to.
He's what happenes when an adult tries to use the retarded WWF circus that is hip hop to fill the huge void in his life caused by his family abandoning him and years upon years of abject poverty and failure.

I was listening to rap when Fuck Compton came out. Hell, I got 80's Ultramag shit on cassette. That still doens't put Tim Dog in the same category as Beanie Sigel as an MC.
'Fuck Compton' was brave for what it was... WHEN it was.
"this ain't a dis record, it's a real record." - Beans. Yup.
Jay-Z was a very charismatic guy when I saw him yesterday. We know he's got a good front on right now, cause he just first spoke on the Beanie Sigel shit in Montreal, then came here to Toronto... where he didn't breathe one word, just was being happy. We KNOW that inside, he's kinda nervous though... cause sure, he can sell out the ACC and he's a god to the masses... in the back of his mind, he knows the truth: STREETS ARE TALKING. And that's where Jigga came from.
It's like these guys say on their records: there are places they can't go back to... cause of what they did to get out. At some point, you gotta say: "wait, how come ALL the people you came up with are dissing you now?" Dehaven, Sauce Money, Jaz-O, Dame Dash, Calvin Kline (<- that big NYC drug dealer, I think even he said Jay wasn't all what he said he was)... the point is, Sigel ends off the song with the most important fact: "in every hood, my name good". Jay-Z can't say the same.
I know the mainstream don't fucking care about Beanie, that's not the point. The masses often don't care about the TRUTH, but I do.
10 years from now, when people analyze the Jay-Z timeline, THIS RECORD WILL BE A MAJOR MOMENT. Anybody who fucking knows Roc-a-fella will agree that Beanie Sigel airing out Jay-Z is worth remembering. Fuck the kids who can't even rap the lyrics to 'Run This Town' but just bought the album cause Jay is the most popular rapper on earth now.
the last line in the song is some wisdom I've never had.
"the richest man aint the one with his first dollar... it's the one with his first friend."
this shit isn't childish, nor is it WWF, or bullshit ghetto drama. it's fucking real life and real lessons if you hear and see it right.
I know nothing about you, nor care to. If you are e-stalking some pathetic nobody, how much lower does that make you?I Drive A Lexus wrote:Mindbender is truly pathetic : a 34 year old spending his friday and saturday nights squawking on message boards about rapper gossip nobody over the age of 15 should give a 2nd thought to.

But since he lost to Nas, he hasnגt competedג¦ Everytime somebody cameג Beans went out in the front with Jadakiss. He had the Camגron issues. Then when Camגron came back and it was issues again, the Tru-Life deal was signed. And when Tru-Life got into an altercation with him, that one stopped. Thatגs what stopped the Cam beef.
[8:05-9:00] [Do you feel like that Beanie Sigel has some legitimate complaints about Jay-Z?] I think he did have legitimate complaints because of my choices. Likeג When they tell me you was giving the nigga $1250? [Silence.] A group? [Silence.] A motherfucker canגt even afford no pussy with $1250. [Laughs.] These niggas is staying in nice hotels. If a bitch order room service twice, youגre done. [Laughs.] You know what it is, itגs traditional business. My business model comes from the curb so Iגma take care of my niggas a little different, cuz they my people.

dude, 'ether' is a now a verb. motherfuckers get 'Ethered'.
the facts remain: New York City itself voted for 'Ether' over 'Supa Ugly', Jay-Z himself said on Blueprint 2 that he lost, and we all know that Hova was a Nas Stan until 'Takeover'.
Jay-Z won many battles, but he lost that war. Life goes on, accept it. Nas and Jay both did and made up, and made some great music. But Jay-Z lost to Nas, plain and simple.
I like reading random people's thoughts about this Roc/Beanie situation... here's a decent one:
Cam'ron didn't last long on the Roc.This is just showing u that jayz was just the rapper not a great president of a rap label. Dame was that guy! i know i know we all are fans of jayz music but this guy is selfish and disloyal. beans is at fault for his own actions with all the legal issues but what about the label issues once the roc as we all knew it went away?! he stayed loyal to jay and gets left in limbo but its his fault. And lets b real Dame got him his Sp label and clothing line not jay. jay gave him those bents but if you know anything about personal prop taxes you know y he did that. SMH at jayz calling the feds on beans and people up here defending him. had anyone else did that the snitching topic would be everywhere but i guess its jay so its ok with you stans. Dont get me wrong i like jay music but you got to call a spade a spade. Jay fucked the roc up because he didnt want nobody to out shine him.
I've visited friends in jail. I keep true to my word as best I can.christian from austin wrote:Like, OMG totally right?Mindbender Futurama wrote:jay didn't visit beans in jail, either? :jayz:
it's THAT kinda shit...
people like Diddy, who run around talking "peace to Shyne, I talked to him in prison" and shit, and Shyne comes out saying "Puffy is a liar, he never once said what up or sent me anything" means something to me, I don't know about y'all.
if Jay never even sent Beans a letter once while he was in jail, that's some shameful shit, straight the fuck up.
there are some real life lessons to be learned from all this shit, if anyone is paying attention.

Let's get this straight so we can move forward.
Are you saying Mindbender that
1. This dis is the same caliber as "Fuck Compton"
a. historically?
b. lyrically?
2. This dis record is a classic?
I'll bet my next ten years worths of paychecks to the contrary.
